Q about pace - When fast team plays slow team who sets the pace?

    The faster team?
    The slower team?
    The better team?

The team with the better offense?
The team with the better defense?

    The officials?

Has anyone ever handicapped NBA officials on how they affect pace? Some officials don't call many fouls, other officials that is all they want to do is call fouls.

better team...or better coached team. like spurs. reason for their durability. also why team should mix their roster with young guns without the attitude. you will notice every season or two, spurs have new faces playing sufficient minutes.

and it benefits the owners pockets also

IMO, a mix of the better team, luck as far as who shows up and actually plays hard, and I've always heard the home team is more likely to set the pace.

It's a combo of both...the away teams pace is a little more significant than the home team's for some reason.
