    CLEVELAND (AP)—Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert has congratulated Dallas on winning its first NBA title, denying LeBron James(notes) the one he left Cleveland to get.
    About 15 minutes after the Mavericks beat the Miami Heat in Game 6, Gilbert sent a message on his Twitter page to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

    “Congrats to Mark C.& entire Mavs org.,” Gilbert wrote. “Mavs NEVER stopped & now entire franchise gets rings. Old Lesson for all: There are NO SHORTCUTS. NONE.”
    Last summer after James announced he was leaving the Cavs as a free agent to join the Heat, the superstar was lambasted by Gilbert, who accused him of quitting in last year’s playoffs. Gilbert also promised that karma would prevent James from winning a championship and promised the Cavs would win their first title before “the self-proclaimed King” won one.

    The city and Gilbert can vent for as long as we need to. This was a marriage that went into divorce and one party handled it like a dick. He could have quietly said that he wanted to move on but he celebrated the breakup and danced in front of all of us. What hurt most was that he knew he was leaving years ago but played the franchise by laying in bed with Wade and Bosh back in the Olympics. If he was truthful, he could have at least helped the Cav's get better trade value but intentionally tried to screw the Cavs.

    Wade is one fall from ending his career. Bosh is still too soft but solid and Lefraud doesn't have the clutch gene. I don't see this Heat team beating the Mav's next year with a healthy Caron Butler and Haywood. Plus the cHeat are in cap hell. Who do you think they're going to pick up in the off season?     The Heat will still win a ring before the Cavs do. The Mavs were simply the better team this year but Miami will be a elite team for at least a decade.
