    Dirk is a good shooter, and being 7 foot tall gives him a huge advantage. I never understood why more 7 footers don't try to develop a shot like Dirk. It seems like there is a unwritten rule that if you are 7 feet tall, you can only develop your game "down-low" and you should leave the shooting to the guards...

    It's cause what Dirk does takes a certain level of skill and God given talent. He was already a terrific shooter as a youth and only honed his skills later on as he developed in life. Most 7 footers don't have that gift to begin with.

    Remember those lists I posted include everyone of all types so it doesn't take into account height/position/quality of team or other factors that go into it. I mean Shaq is #1 in EFG% but no one would go as far to say that he is one of the top shooters of all-time.

    This is why these lists are almost impossible to nail down because unless you define a set of parameters to make said list you could come up with a multitude of reasons to fit a player in to the discussion. I believe it comes down to more than stats, there are intangibles that make great shooters...like their ability to come off screens and get that hint of daylight...watch Ray Allen or Rip Hamilton, they were masters. Dirk could doesn't have to be great coming off screens...he's 7' tall so it's much easier to get a shot off. The measurables are only part of the equation.

    I think that's why you have to respect Ray Allen and Reggie Miller's shooting ability...they are afterall 1 & 2 in career 3-pointers. Hell even Jason Kidd could be considered a good shooter as he's #3 all-time 3's.

    Dirk is on the best shooters ever, and with his height adavantage all teams have a lot of problems in defense, they have rebuild their defense because no team has shooter like this in pf and that creates more problems. Really good player and he deserves a ring.
