If that's the biggest collapse you've seen you haven't seen much basketball.

They've been falling apart this entire series. What's new about this? Nighty night LA.

Apparently you missed the Nets blow a 20+ point lead in the 4th to the Boston Paul Pierce's in the ECF

Kobe's as big a part of the problem as anyone else. Forcing shots after he did a nice job of being distributor all game. I still say Phil Jackson is being exposed this series. Nice to have all those rings, but I always thought he got a little too much credit for the greatness around him that helped him look good. Listening to the audio in the huddles now is hilarious and shows you enough of why the old man needs to hang it up. He rattled off some stats in the one ESPN showed tonight and then ended with "we can't do that." I know it wasn't all of the huddle, but I don't know that he has any juice left to be a motivator at this point in his career. He's obviously lost control of this team or at least the ability to get the best out of them.

They have collapsed in all three 4th quarters thus far in the series...maybe the Mavs are just better??

8 pt lead is not cruising especially against a team that plays defense. Lakers were bad to end the season and this is what they get for thinking they can just switch when the playoffs come.

This was the nail in the coffin...the Lakers are in complete disarray and they are being outplayed by a hungrier and outright better team. It's ironic that the Lakeshow are the ones folding like the Mavs are known for and the Mavs are the aggressor and will probably meet OKC in the WCF.

The G.O.A.T would never collapse of go down 0-3. That's the only thing I know for sure. Did he EVER let his team blow a huge lead in the 4th? Show me and you get points.

Actually the biggest choked job was courtesy of the Mavericks up 23 against Portland in the the 2nd half. But Kobe not being able to hit anything in the final 5 minutes is unreal in itself. This lost officially separated Kobe from Jordan's stratosphere.

Lakers blew a 16 point lead in game one, so this wasn't even the biggest collapse of the series.

Kobe is greatest NBA player ever. Got him 5 or 6 rings. Dominates. Just doesn't care anymore. His legacy is secure and he knows it. Looking now to preserve his health for the rest of his life. Kobe Bryant

Nets blew a 20somethin point lead in the 4th against the Cs in the early 2000s... that's the biggest 4th quarter comeback in playoff history I believe

1987 playoffs, the Bulls go 0-3 and lost to the Pistons1988 Bulls lose 3 straight to the Celtics. 1989 playoffs the Bulls went up 2-1 only to lose 3 straight again by the Pistons to get bounced. The very next year they go down 0-2 to the Pistons but push them to a game 7 as the Bulls started to put things together. Very next year they win a title and the rest is history.

    Some games to remember...
December 20, 1986 Utah at Bulls
Bulls lose a 9 point lead very similar to the way the Lakers lost an 8 point lead in the 4th and lose by 2.

Same year they give up 40 points in the 4th to Milwaukee to lose by 15.

Gave up 42 points in the 4th to lose to Boston in 1988.

Nov 18, 1989 Bulls had an 8 point lead in the 4th over Seattle and ended up losing by 9.

February 14, 1990 Bulls were up 11 points mid way in the 4th only to let Terry Catlidge and the Magic come back and get the game to OT only for the Bulls to lose by 6.

I remember the Bulls getting stomped by the Rockets in a 4th quarter like in 96/97. The Rockets and Cavs use to have the Bulls number for many of Jordan's years. It could be argued that the one team the Bulls really couldn't beat was the Rockets. If only Houston was in the East, they would have probably bounced the Bulls several of those years. Rockets really matched up well with them and noone on the Bulls could handle Hakeem.

Lakers are just on cruise control, they will turn it on now.

    Sound familiar?

"Regular season means nothing to the Lakers". This years playoffs must not either. Oh wait. I get it. They have enough rings, they can take a season off.
