    Are the thunder done?

Obviously not but you gotta say that the Grizz look so impressive thus far in the playoffs. No team but the lakeshow has an answer for the gasol/randolph combo and the fact that Rudy Gay isnt even playing makes it more impressive. The lines i saw at pinny still indicate the thunder will bounce back and take it in 7 considering how much is being offered for mem still but i gotta like the grizz here. Adding Battier was huge. I mean lets face it most of there games so far they havent been beaten at all or barely. This team is extremely dangerous and there is a real shot for them to make the final of the western conference.

Grizzlies exact result at 4-2 +366 is worth a serious look. This is a damn good team.

They are athletic, have size and depth, and play good defense. I made a thread before their series with the spurs that they would be a terrible matchup for them and it turned out right. The team is built to last and will be good for a long time.

Size wins in the nba and they have it.

I'd be worried if I'm OKC or if I bet on OKC to win the series. Why? Because being down 0-1 puts a ton of pressure on you to win game 2. Game 2 will pretty much be a do-or-die type game for the Thunder. There is no way the Thunder have a chance in this series if they have to go into Memphis down 0-2.

I also don't think OKC can win in Memphis. That crowd fuels that Memphis team more than any other home arena in the NBA. As good as Durant and Westbrook are, that OKC team gives up too many points. They have great individual defenders like Sefelosha, Perkins, and Ibaka, but for some reason they can't get defensive stops when they need to. Giving up nearly 60 points in the 1st half to the Grizz is embarrassing.

People look at them and just see a No. 8 seed, which means it's impossible for them to reach the conference finals, right?

This was a team that went a respectable 46-36 overall, including a 30-11 home record. In other words, this isn't an East No. 8.

Now that they technically have home court advantage in the series, all bets are off. They're playing with a high level of confidence and riding a ton of momentum against a Thunder team that isn't incredibly balanced and obviously has a track record of struggling with this particular matchup.

I'd say they'll struggle to advance because Hollins isn't a very good coach, but I'm not particularly sold on Brooks, either. Westbroke needs to wake up and stop crying; Durant can't do it by himself.

Losing Gay was the best thing to happen to the Grizz...they found an identity now and I would guarantee that if he was playing, he would ruin that identity no matter how good he is. Gay requires the ball in his hands too much, and he settles for the perimeter shot which is EXACTLY the opposite of what the grizz have become about by playing inside first through zach with alot of perimeter movement while finding the open man

i agree with nastradamus. lets wait til the conclusion of game 2 or at least the first half of game 2 to say that okc is done. i mean i hope memphis wins the series because i got the memphis for the series for 10 units... don't wanna get too excited yet.

So you taking them +6.5 game 2? 7 games in to the playoffs and the only game they have lost by more than 6.5 (7) was the Overtime game @ SA. I'm definitely taking/liking the 6.5 just not sure for how much.

hard not to be impressed by their effort on short turn around. they had basically no time to prepare while thunder had several days to focus.

i expect thunder will lift and make a battle of it, but that was the hardest spot for memphis and they got it done.

it's only one game, that's at least allow to happen even in the playoff, in your home court, no big deal.
people forget defense is the key to everything, mem have two out standing wing & guards defenders + M. Conley, this is the guy who held chris paul to 1 point less than a month ago. Zibo got 4 yrs ext just in time.

This is another series (like Dallas/Portland) where the oddsmakers' power ratings are just way off. These teams should be rated dead even, and it's an absolute joke that OKC would be favored by 6.5. Should be 3.5.

Durant just admitted Zbo is the best PF in the world and that's not something a champ goes out and says after 1 game. OKC need momentum to get back and I think it will be hard for them to get that back. I don't think they are done, it's one game, lets see how they responds. I think it will be a positive one form OKC.

Yes, it is just one game, but the Grizzlies may have already won the series because they simply do not lose at home any more.

So do we wait to see if the Thunder wins game 2 to get a better price on Grizz for the series or get it now while its still +110?

I like your thinking because the home teams may win out now. So wait until after Thunder win Game 2.

i had them as my sleeper team in the west preseason but got laughed at by a guy or 2 in my thread....

everyone was killing me for hating on the rockets this year...

this team is legit, but the thunder are no joke either....the west is a powerhouse...

I think the NBA will try to help OKC tomorrow night,
and help them win the series.
That doesn't mean it will happen, the game will have to be close for
the officials to decide the outcome. Grizz may overcome.
The coaching by Brooks at OKC has been thoroughly abysmal.
    Westbrook is out of control.

I put some money on Memphis before Game 1:
    4-1 (+2993), 4-2 (+758), 4-3 (+1029)
    Composite Odds: (+335)

and then added more today for
    4-2 (+370), 4-3 (+752)
    Composite Odds: (+203)

The Thunder might still win this series easily if they make adjustments, but the Grizz feel invincible right now and any way you slice it, these prices offer insane value for a team that has so much going for it.
