Memphis + 6.5 ... You Know What to do

I think the grizz may win tonight to close it. Dallas (when they lost as a 1 seed) also lost the series in game 5 so it's very possible tonight

I think grizz win by 3-4 or lose by 3-4, either case the spread should be easily covered

They say young teams cant close out on the road, i think Spurs win, no idea if Memphis will cover or not though.

Will it look like the orlando game? Have we not learn anything from it?

    meh

San Antonio hasn't blown out memphis in something like 3-4 years. These 2 teams always play pretty close games

Orlando blew out Atlanta last year, so I guess we shouldn't be real shocked

Golden State beat Dallas in game 5 as an 8 seed a few years ago

It was game 6 and it was in Oakland that they closed out, not on the road.

The Magic stayed with Atlanta in all games though and were constantly shooting at <.300 for 3's. Their whole game is based off 3's. If they finally started hitting them it was always going to result in a blowout to the Magic.

The Magic could quite easily still win that series.

The Spurs have looked old and slow for the past month. This is not something new with them.

If contributions from guest appearances on ESPN's Sportsnation count as 3 pointers, Bowen's performance will drastically alter the outcome of this matchup.

    Rashard Jafferson is another key.

I can see Memphis covering. Much different game than Orlando, because the Hawks didn't even look good in both wins they had at home. The Hawks were lucky to get away with two wins at home. The Grizzilies looked dominant the entire series.

The Spurs has been able to go on spurts of 10 double digit leads but always fail to sustain it. They're definitely more than capable of getting a 10 point lead in this game too! Like the Magics, the Spurs need Bonner, Neal, and the rest of the crew to make their 3's. This team was rank #1 overall in the league in making the three's and it must happen today for them to cover comfortably.

So far this year in the playoffs:

San Antonio is the 13th best (out of 16) 3 pt shooting squad
    Memphis is the 5th best.

San Antonio was 1st during the regular season. Spurs need two or three role players to go off from behind the arc if they wanna force game 6

Don't forget that Memphis is 8-0 ATS vs. the Spurs this year. They are a nightmarish matchup athletically for San Antonio.

I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs won but the spread is a bit high to feel confident with.

I'm on the Spurs today. I believe this game is gonna be similar to the Magic-Hawks game yesterday. The Magic haven't covered the point spread against the Hawks during the regular season until yesterday in game 5 of the playoffs at home. The same goes with the Spurs since they haven't covered the point spread against the Grizzlies during the regular season and today is game 5 of the playoffs and they're at home.

I remembered the Magic-Cavaliers series when the Cavaliers didn't cover the point spread against the Magic during the regular season until game 5 of the playoffs at home. There must be a pattern here. I believe it's to bet on the point spread on any team playing at home during game 5 of the playoffs if they haven't covered the point spread against their opponent during the regular season and the first four games in the playoffs.

I don't believe in the "due" theory, if teams don't match up, they don't math up.

I remember during the regular season when the Spurs played the Heat and killed them by like 30 points, Tim Duncan famously said "It's over!".

well, it looks like its over for you Timmy d, and your team.
