If you believe in NBA game fixing...

There's no more important game for them to fix (or attempt to fix) than Boston/New York game 3. New York's first home playoff game in 7 years and the first with their new stars...

The Knicks losing this game would cost the NBA big money. I'll wait to see who the refs are before deciding on this game. One thing I'd bet on is that there's at least one very shady ref like Joe Crawford assigned to this game, definitely.

I've come to the conclusion on here that many people like to gamble there lunch money on someone elses pick and if they lose the game they either blame the person they followed OR blame that the game is fixed/refs bad calls.

Now.. If they win the game they bash the other peoples losing pick and suggest it was them who made the call the whole time.

Knicks have good chance to win this game, but your fix theory is ridiculous.

We'll see who the refs are and how the game goes for example:

Ok, so no sporting events have ever been fixed? And if you know about the fix, you can't cash in?

Did you make it out of high school?

don't be ignorant, sporting events are "pre-determined" all the time.

If you can't see this you are blind to the world around you.

Umm ahh buddy I've made it so far out of high school that if you knew what I do for a living you would take that petty one liner back before you realise how stupid you will look.

Now.... Predicting a "fixed" game well before it has been concluded is ridiculous. Gambling solely on the reason you believe it will be rigged in favour of a certain team is not very wise... If you believe that sporting events are predetermined ALL THE TIME then you obviously don't know the sport you are watching and need to take up another hobby.

There have been many times that I've watched a game and thought to myself "yes, this shouldnt have happened - these are professional atheletes." or yes that ref made a awful call to favour one team but to say all the games are not officiated properly or suggest a player is losing on purpose is just funny to me. Especially before the game is even determined.

So carry on... It seems I need to know more about this industry of fixed sports.......

I am sure the league would love to see a Knicks win at home. This game or the next. If the public pushes up Boston or if you tease the points a bit, the knicks are probably the play. I will likely lay off this one and hope somehow Boston wins. This, I believe, puts a huge premium on the Knicks in the next game to win. With Shaq out, it is simple enough to put the other O'Neal in foul trouble. Without his inside presence, the advantage at home swings to the knicks.

What the NBA wants and what it gets are often 2 different things. The refs do try to influence the outcome of certain games we all know that, but they can't always overcome the performance (good or bad) of the players. Obviously it's much easier to fix if the game comes down to the wire, but trying to win over the long-term with this strategy of betting on "fixed games" is a bad idea.

It wasn't Joe Crawford who was assigned to this game but Dan Crawford, the guy's so shady that even ESPN ran a story about his questionable history recently:

The other two refs for this game are Marc Davis and David Guthrie, anyone know anything about them?

It's not a hard game to fix either. This game will come down to the wire, Garnett and the rest of the Celtics will rely on the refs for time out calls and other important strategic decisions. All it takes is just 1 call in favor of New York near the end of the game to change the result.

Joe Crawford is a tool. He gives technical fouls like crazy and notice its always 1 sided against 1 team...Obv fix.

If the league could fix the lottery to ensure that the Knicks got Ewing way back when, it's not unreasonable to think they might fix a game for the Knicks under these circumstances.

It's Dan Crawford, not Joey, and I read that he may actually just be an alternate tonight.

Dan Crawford for the Knicks game: http://www.nba.com/news/referee.html

Joe's got the Laker game, Hornets look like they will continue to cover vs LA.

Joe Crawford favors the Lakers, imho. Watch how the Lakers interact with him, they act like friends. Just watch it.

One thing is easy to fix and hard to tell is to call a charge or block. Really, nobody can be 100% sure, so it will be subject to official leaning.

Not to mention those early in the quarter touch fouls and those 'nobody saw anything' away from the ball fouls on the inbound (my favorite)

    knicks were an awful play.

look at the miami series last year. celtics win the game and then lose game 4 so they win at home.

    not surprising
