thibby is a great coach. and you are on crack if you think that boston, miami, and chicago are not just as good as anyone out west.

boozer and noah missed a good chunk of the year
their 2 best front court players gone for an extensive amount of time
ur premise of an improved team is flawed rite there

the only constant was rose and the coach

Did they even have Korver then? No they did not lol. They had Kirk Hinrich, he was their 3rd leading scorer last year.
Boozer and Korver should have made them a worse defensive team. Boozer is handicapped on defense, trust me. The fact that they went up to #1 with the same guys adding Boozer and Korver is pretty amazing. That's coaching. Thibodeau is a great coach. Coach of the Year is a weird award anyway, not sure exactly what it means.

Do not disrespect Coach Tibs. He hails from "Hard Hittin'" New Britain, CT and will whip your ass.

If COY means team exceeding expectations then it has to be Thibodeau. This was a .500 team the last 2 seasons and their O/U was what, maybe 44/45 games. Who thought they would have the best record in the NBA. 17/18 wins above expectations. And they did it without Boozer/Noah for large chunks of the season.

No team exceeded expectations that much. And then to do it as a first year coach and being everything together so quickly and have everyone buying in. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Bulls have inside defense and inside offense. Heat have neither. Bosh is almost a perimeter player who is not very good defensively. Also the Bulls have the best player in the league.

I like the Heat when the 2 teams play.
Care to share those stats? Let's take a look at some facts:

Bulls avg loss margin = 7 points
Heat avg loss margin = 7.8 points

Bulls lost 4 games by DD
Heat lost 6 games by DD

Bulls lost 5/20 (25%) games by 1 or 2 points
Heat lost 4/24 (16%) games by 1 or 2 points

5/20 (25%) Bulls losses by more than 8 points
8/24 (33%) Heat losses by more than 8 points

Looks to me like the Bulls lost more close games, Heat got blown out more and Bulls losses were by fewer points.
