Word, that is a good point on Rondo and the Celtics. I'm hoping that the b2b games for the T-Wolves means some players just go through the motions (like the Heat last night) and the few games missed by Rondo has a negative impact on his performance. As I write this I can't help but feel shame for just saying that about Rondo, I live in Boston and the Celtics are my favorite NBA team.

Lakers -4.5 @ Hornets

I believe this is my first Lakers play all season. I think they hit a new low last night and I expect them to rebound (figuratively and literally) tonight. Lately, the Lakers have a weird pattern where they play good basketball for 3 quarters and then they seem to sleep walk. While some will attribute this to Howard's free throw problems, I think it has more to do with a lack of mental focus. The Pelicans, errr Hornets, are not on the same level as the Lakers, even with the Lakers being an average team. I expect the Lakers to come out energized and to keep their foot down through 4 full quarters. Normally, I would avoid this play because the Lakers head to the Thunder on Friday, but at this point the Lakers just need a WIN, so I'm riding them. This is more of a momentum play than anything else.

I had this play pegged since the Orl/GS game and still really like the spot with Utah in the middle of a home stand coming off some close losses and I think this is a prime spot for Magic to come down off their adrenaline high and get back to their normal playing level. But I'm not liking that Favors, and to a lesser extent, Marvin Williams are out. Also it's a bit expensive at -8. Lemme know if you got any thoughts on this one. BOL on the Lakeshow tonight

Like you, I was looking forward to this game. Two things make me nervous; 1. Laying 8 points. I thought the line would be closer to 5.5. 2. Will the Magic crash back to Earth or have they found their stride after beating the Lakers and Warriors? I like the Jazz at home, but according to Sagarin's rankings, these two teams are not that far apart. I believe they are separated by just 2 points on his scale. At this point, this is a no play for me. Too many points being spotted and I don't trust the Magic.

WINNER!!! Well, I was right and I was wrong. Where I was wrong; the Lakers did not come out with a ton of energy. They phucked around for the first 2 quarters. Where I was right; the Lakers turned up the defensive intensity in the 2H and blew the Pelicans out of the water (pun intended). Lakers rolled to an easy victory and only turned the ball over 9 times. Cash it!

As the Wizard search for their first road win, I think they will play a competitive game from start to finish. Wizards may be a good value for the next few games. It sounds as if they are finding their groove and believing in each other as a young team. I like the way the Wizards match-up and lets not forgot that the Hawks have a HUGE game against Memphis, tomorrow!

Knicks are facing a couple of injuries, but I think they are the better team. Bulls are tough at home, but I think the Knicks are on a whole different level. I think the Knicks will slash and gash the lane and pull away late. Not my strongest play of the week, but I like it enough to bet it.

LOSER!!! Sorry guys. I'm really disappointed with how the Knicks closed out that game. No intensity whatsoever. Looks like I got a little too square on this play. Detroit plays the 76ers tough and the 76ers have had a bit of a rough stretch. I like the Pistons getting 6 here. Knight seems to have come alive the last few games and I think that carries over into tonight's contest. 76ers are at home, but are coming off of an awful loss at Boston. Detroit plays the 76ers tough and the 76ers have had a bit of a rough stretch. I like the Pistons getting 6 here. Knight seems to have come alive the last few games and I think that carries over into tonight's contest. 76ers are at home, but are coming off of an awful loss at Boston. This game should come down to the wire.

LOSER!!! Phucking brutal ending. I'm not sure the Pistons scored within the last two minutes. They went ice cold at the end and compounded the problem with turnovers. Of course a useless foul puts the spread out of reach by one point and we lose. This game looked great going down the stretch run. Pistons just don't have that closer DNA, right now.

This may be the square play of the day, but I think the Knicks are playing much better than they were the last time these two teams met. Other than blowing a game late to the Bulls in Chicago, the Knicks have been on fire. The Nets have Lopez back, but I suspect his minutes will be limited. The Knicks should get some easy looks as they slash the lane.

#2 Wizards +5.5 @ Pelicans Hornets

Wizards are facing a lot of injuries, but this is just the spot where some bench hands can prove that they belong. The Hornets will be getting Davis back, but all in all these two teams are fairly equal in terms of talent. This game should come down to a final possession. I'll take the points.

#3 Clippers -2.5 @ Bulls

The Clippers bench will decide this game. I think the Clippers have too much depth for the Bulls to overcome. This should be a close game with the Clippers pulling away in the latter half of the 4th. Right now the Bulls are relying on Belinelli, who has been playing way above his pay grade. The Clippers have stepped it up on the defensive end the last few games and I think Belinelli comes back down towards his points average.

#2 WINNER!! As I suspected, the Wizards finished strong. This game was close the entire way in terms of the spread and them BAAAM, the Wizards put her away!

#3 WINNER!!! This game ended up being closer than I imagined it would be. I have to give credit to the Bulls for playing a good game at home. Ultimately, the Clippers were just too hot.

I know it seems like I'm on the Wizard's nuts, but this team is better than their record. I know a lot of people have trouble betting on this team and I think that's where the value lays. Wizards coming off of a great come from behind win against the Pelicans Hornets, and I think that momentum can carry over. The Rockets are a little banged up, with Harden and Lin. This line seems inflated by about 4 points! I smell a backdoor cover!!!!
