Who do you think is the greatest coach (just pro basketball) of all time?
I vote Red Auerbach. Career record of 938-479. 9 titles as coach, 16 total with the Celtics. Pretty much built the Celtics up on his own (22-46 record year before he took over), through his own picks/trades. Coach of the greatest dynasty in American pro sports history (10 Finals in 10 years, winning 9- 8 of them being consecutive). Drafted the league's first African-American. Made the focus on teamwork and defense his priority, which was revolutionary. Also made the fast break a weapon and part of a team's strategy.
Also- the NBA Coach of the Year award is called the Red Auerbach Trophy for a reason
Only listing 4 guys in the poll- Red, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Lenny Wilkens, with 'other' as an option
