This race will be boring as he**. Cool weather. A big wide track. 4 different drivers who will risk nothing to win this race because they have already won a race. All of that spells B-O-R-I-N-G.

I thought the same thing at first but it looks like the exact opposite may happen. I wonder if Jr and team would have took the risk of running out of gas at Vegas knowing they were 1/2 to 3/4 of a lap short if they didn't already have that win. It may not be that way for all the teams that get that first win but I'm guessing it will be.

Of course JR would have got gas. They even admitted it. It doesn't make picking winners any easier just because a driver has won a race.

Just the exact opposite actually imo.

Why wouldn't they? More PTS to start the chase with

Boring races for most people usually means great race for me $. Best thing about Fontana is... take two tires and see what happens

2 tyres not the way here long green flag runs may get you track position but swallowed up on the track after 20 laps

Yeah that's what I was referring too. If u are the only one to take two tires, u wont be in the top 10 after 2 laps. Theres only a handful of tracks left like that and I love them. I hate how a guy can take two tires and get the lead and then cant be passed at all these repaves they've done.

Of course they say they would have got gas now after running out and handing the win to Brad. Doesn't matter now the point was would they have took the chance without the win...I doubt it.

I didn't say anything about making it easier to pick winners because of a win??

I'm guessing that multi-million dollar sponsor has more to do with going after wins than 3 bonus points..IMO

Welcome to Fontana. If you're not on the gas 99% of the time you're going to be slow..another track where engine builders have their fingers crossed and hide in the corner.

I was thinking about this and can't decide if they would have done anything different whether he had a win already or not.

if he didn't have a win would he really have settled for a low top 10? Surely he would want the win even more in that case? Or would he?

I agree. If he didn't have the win, he'd be more likely to gamble for a win. Lower end drivers without a win should be doing that.

With one win locking you in . I think they would've risked it. Think we see more of that as season goes

You are closer to LA than I am to Perth. I am about 1/3 of the way up the East coast and Perth is about opposite on the West coast.

It really is the end of the earth over here. Thousands of miles of almost nothing to the North and East of Perth... then thousands of miles of near empty ocean heading West toward Africa.

Must be almost the worst possible place to be trying to search. Planes they are using only get 2 hours over the search area before having to head back.

Yeah I mean there isn't enough planes up there. Shocked if they find anything now. Talk about a needle in a haystack. They need a bunch of those US planes that are low flying and they have just 1

Why do some Asians wear surgical masks around all the time? Saw that a lot again during interviews and never knew why they did

Yeah the US P9 sub hunter seems to be the only plane they have that can hang around for very long.

From what I've read it will be Sunday until they have a full search effort with boats and planes going properly. But a huge storm is set to hit the area Sunday too.

I wonder why they cant keep following the stuff they are looking for with new satellite pics every few hours. They are looking for something seen more than 6 days ago now. Weird how inept we really are at this stuff. Not like the movies at all.

No idea. Only time I can think of seeing people wearing masks they look like Japanese tourists. Its not common that i know of.

Pollution in Perth is quite low, if it was people in Perth you saw.

You're right it is an Asian thing though. And we've had a huge influx of Asians in the last 10 years. Would be more Asians than European background people in my street now I think.
