If you like an outsider I would normally like Mikko Hirvonen in this spot in Sweden. He is @ 15 for the win and 2.60 for podium. But he seems messed in the head and low in confidence these days.

Have you been reading about this Yank, John Malone, who is trying to buy up F1?

Sounds like he could be far worse than Bernie to me. All about manipulating TV rights by the sounds.

Yeah something like that I think Vegas. WRC2 is a class. Can't find any reference to what T and M mean on the website. Mostly want to know what the 'T' means next to Kubica.

Mikkelsen seems to be the main challenger for Ogier so far. He's taken 3 stages to Ogier's 4 out of the first 7.

And he says the 5 second deficit on the 7th stage was due to him taking used tyres, so he would have a new set available for the more important 8th stage on day 2.

    Kubica consistently faster than Solberg

Highlights in case anyone else interested.

    Night 1 Stages 1-2

    Day 1 Stages 3-7

I think there will be some drama at Ferrari this year, I just can't see Raikkonen playing second fiddle to Alonso all year

Bad day for our bets on WRC.

Ogier and Kubica both binned it into snow banks and lost several minutes each.

A few years ago I would agree. But both are too grown up and too smart to get involved in sabotaging each other now I think.

hey mate, ended having a few days off and decided to go down the coast. Was offline until last night and only saw the result then.

Sorry, bad choices for. Atleast we should get better odds on Loeb next race!

Nice. Apollo Bay way? Or do you mean Frankston?

Both our guys put it into a snow ditch on the same stage, about stage 9 I think it was... they were never going to catch up after that loss. Bets looked like winners before that though.

Do you know what the M and T mean under eligibility on that scoreboard above Matt?

Mikkelsen seems like a dark horse... if that T class is fast enough to compete usually.

haha yeah near Apollo Bay, but closer to Lorne actually - nice place called Jamieson River.

Only thing I can think of with the eligibility column is it is distinguish between manufacturer teams which are eligible to score Manufacturer points or not. Can't find any reference online though.

M - stands for manufacturer team
T - stands for (private) team
    WRC 2 – stands for WRC 2 team/ categorie

I hope this helps, best wishes,

    Rush jinx?

This is the third person associated with the F1 movie Rush that I have heard of dieing in a car since the film was made.

    http://www.crash.net/f1/news/200320/...-in-crash.html

The guy in Australia who played his father and was instructing when the student crashed, one of the writers in road accident, and this guy who was the stunt double for Lauda's actor.

Yeah went with son to see it before Xmas.

Did you like it? I did, it was enjoyable, but didn't blow me away or inspire me the way i hoped. Although my expectations were a little high maybe.

Certainly wasnt the greatest movie but I thought it did a good of showing a little of what happened. Def could have been better and would have been nice to have seen some other key events in there but I was pretty happy with it. Love the look of the cars from the 70's which made it easy to watch no matter what!

Love having Montoya back in IndyCar. Can't wait till May with the 500 in my back yard. Montoya will be a factor often whether good or bad I dunno. I love listening to him on the radio. I could see Montoya contending on some ovals this year, but IndyCars are for the young these days and Montoya is an old man per se. He will also need seat time to get back into the groove. The 2-day back2back duals will be hard on him as will road courses everywhere. I would not suggest anyone place a future on Juan to win a title, though. Good luck Gentlemen.

Ryan Newman. As a good value longshot.

That comment surprised me too. I don't see Marcos being happy with an oval win then disappearing into the sunset.

I think the new chase system will help his long term future though. For a team like Petty (or Front Row perhaps?), a driver like Marcos could provide a ticket into the chase, which has got to be almost priceless for a mid grid team?
