Welcome to Punters Club 2012
We will use the same format as last year with a minor change to the amount we stake each week.
7 members was a good number last year. And I think any more than 9 would be too many. (giving us an average of 8 turns each as a punter). Members from last year have first option to join, any remaining spots are first in best dressed.
I will buy us $280 worth of 5 Dimes sportsbook cash, place the club bets each week and post screenshots.
The member list will be randomly sorted into 2 lists to start the season.
ie:
Mem1 Mem7
Mem6 Mem4
Mem3 Mem5
Mem7 Mem2
Mem2 Mem1
Mem5 Mem6
Mem4 Mem3
The 2 names at the top of the lists are that week's punters. If the punter makes more than double his stake in profit, he stays at the top of the list to punt again next week. If not he moves to the bottom of that list. Should a punter end up at the top of both lists, the next person down will jump ahead of him on one list.
For race one (which will be Phoenix, as we are doing something different for Daytona this year) the punters will split 15% of the bankroll as their stake. Which would be $21 each from our starting amount of $280.
Should we have a winning week, the percentage will move up to 16% for the following race, a losing week then we go down to 14%, and so on. I hope this will help us cope with any losing streaks better than last year.
Entry fees:
6 players = 630 points each
7 players = 540
8 players = 472
9 players = 420
As for payouts, with the new rules since last year, only option will be for me to cash out after Homestead and buy betpoints for distribution back to everyone. Not as exciting as the prospect of direct cash like last year, but it is what it is, and hopefully we can produce a handful of $50 gift cards each for Xmas at least.
Please don't transfer any points as yet, until we see how many players we have. But do post if you definitely want in ASAP.
Daytona 500
Last year no one wanted to be punter for this race (or any plate race) so this year we will start the season differently.
Each member will pick 1 race winner and 1 Head 2 Head matchup winner.
I will split our 15% stake ($42) on them this way, assuming we have 7 members;
$3 each on each winner pick
56 x 50cent parlays with each Head2Head pick boxed in all possible 3 and 4 way combos.
If the majority of members like this idea we can do it for each plate race.
