    update:

heard that if best buy goes to the #17, that RPM will have to shut down dinger, and move ambrose and his sponsors to the #43 car

    Been hearing/reading the same thing.

While I'm relieved to hear Marcos should be safe at RPM, but it is not good they are possibly losing sponsorship on another car. And please please don't hire Kurt Busch!!!

    Only 70 days until Daytona!!!

BEST BUY officially will be primary sponsor kennseth(9 races) AND carl edwards(2 races) IN 2012 Cup series

also best buy will be partial sponsor for both cars all season

very very bad omen for any dinger and #43 fans

u actually HAVE to win races in this day and age in nascar

when r.smith and 6 other 1st time winners even won last year, dinger really didnt and never has performed well enough, so i cant blame BB for going to RFR

that said, still i agree its a shame

I don't quite get it still. But I'm sure the suits and bean counters have numbers to support the decision.

Huge blow for RPM if they have to fall back to a single car team I think.

Glad to hear Dinger has fallen on his feet! He must be Kurt's biggest fan today.

Now fingers crossed this works out just as well for RPM by February...

yeah i understand there arent many chpices, but come on A.A.?? grab 1 of these young bucks that have 10x the talent already behind the wheel than he does after years in the seat...and yeah, ragan (not that i think hes super talented either), is still a way better choice than he is...just sad that this organization cant get over the hump...RPM will have 1 win a year with ambrose on a road course and at most a few top 5s on ovals if they get lucky..thats about the best they can hope for AGAIN...im no RPM fan anyways, but still just sad to see them stay below average

I agree mostly.I'd like to see Ambrose become more consistent as I like his personality and is good for the sport.I assumed they were putting Ragan in car.The Almirola signing was odd unless it was sponsor driven. Not sure on Ragan as at one point he was looked at for Almirolas replacement in Nationwide ride now hearing that will most likely be Cole Whitt

It had to be a sponsor thing doesn't it? Why do I get the feeling the team is slumping backwards into money issues again already.

I'd take Cole Whitt over Aric for the Cup car personally. Not an obvious star, but obviously stands out in the trucks as having great potential. I think 3 or 4 young guys in trucks are better than the guys in good cars in nationwide.

I wonder if Ragan wanted too much money after being used to Roush wages...

NASCAR does the fan stuff 100 times better than any other motorsport series. We may bitch about a lot of stuff, but they are seriously good at looking after fans. F1 and V8 series treat us like the enemy when it comes to driver access.

rusty wallace shut down his 2 nationwide teams due to lack of sponorships for 2012...hes hoping this is temporary, but for now theres no on-the-track activities for either team til money starts coming in from sponsorship

*also kurt busch will be racing in selected nationwide races for phoenix racings nationwide #1 car program starting in daytona

    Haven't read anything about that...

Still got fingers crossed Vodafone are involved if that team comes back. Mainly because I think it will mean Whincup moves from V8s with them eventually.

MWR. He's getting it on the cheap plus gets to take the owners points and field a third car. Mark Martin.
