Sprint Cup Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at the Glen

Which way do you guys think Ambrose's odds might move? He couldn't get much shorter could he? May as well wait for now if betting on him?

    5Dimes says;

    Marcos Ambrose +475
    Tony Stewart +650
    Juan Pablo Montoya +850
    Kyle Busch +850
    Kurt Busch +850
    Jeff Gordon +900
    Jimmie Johnson +975
    Kevin Harvick +1100
    Carl Edwards +1400
    Denn Hamlin +2200
    Jamie McMurray +2700
    Robby Gordon +2700
    Ryan Newman +3300
    Kasey Kahne +3300
    Boris Said +3300
    Clint Bowyer +4000
    A.J. Allmendinger +4500
    Greg Biffle +5500
    Paul Menard +5500
    Joey Logano +5500

Although have to admit it's starting to feel like it's throwing good money after bad the way he manages to lose every Cup road race up until now...

Not the biggest fan of road weekends, but at least the glen has a higher avg speed than Infineon. I took Ambrose during both road races earlier in the season - I think I'll wait to see how he qualifies.

For now however, I will take a winless Smoke for 1 unit @ +650. What I do know is that he has finished either 1st or 2nd in SIX of the last SEVEN races at the Glenn, with the exception of last year's 7th place finish. Hopefully he'll be in contention till the end again this year.

Also fellas, unrelated but to anyone who knows, does SBR usually always post weekly race odds in the sportsbook - or is it only sometimes? Otherwise, might have to go with member book to bet the races with points. Thanks

They usually post them before qualifying and take them down when it starts. Never putting them back up afterwards.

Maybe today or tomorrow they might go up.

if you're ever gonna put $ on Juan Pablo en Fuego (my name for him after seeing him catch fire right in front of me at his 1st Homestead race) this is probably the week.

I like AJ as this years next 1st time winner here at +4500 too.

Nice - I sprinkled a little half unit on AJ and also on Truex Jr for my longshot guys.

Took Smoke at +650 for 1 Unit
    Ambrose +450 for 1 unit

That's all I could do before the lines got taken down at the books. Odds this week are tough, so many I want to choose but it would be a lot at risk to break even in many scenarios. Hopefully we get some changes after qualifying.

AJ was damn good. Something happened at the end to screw it up. See what he comes out at after qualifying.

Ambroes down to +275. On the other hand you can get Stewart for + 825

Stewart should be even higher. His car looks horrible. He has been saying it is out of balance, but it looks much worse than a setup tuning issue to me. Watch his front splitter mid corner and on exit (when he is off brakes) and you can clearly see it gets higher off the track than the fast cars, and at a significant angle to the track. (like the very slowest ones)

Will not only kill his speed and ability to pass. It will ruin his tires which will give him zero hope at the end of the race.

Think I'm going to jump on the AJ bandwagon for a little. Still like Gordo and Denny to do well too.

Here r matchups sorry so late

22-18 Kyle was way better better than the rest of the field (apart from Kurt), but Kurt's car just looked awesome in both practice and quali. Toss up.
    60-5 Carl over Fellows
    33-7 Menard over JJ
20-2 Logano's car looked great on the track despite average quali effort. Plus I'd bet against Elliot's luck. Toss up.
6-31 Think I would take Allgaiers experience over Stenhouse here.
16-66 Bayne. Bank on Steve Wallace doing something stupid. (although 66 car looked good)
38-32 Leffler a lock. His car look GREAT plus Sorrenson will play it safe for points for sure.
88-30 Didn't notice much about either.
    11-09 toss up.

Yeah, sorry about the 'lock' missing. They both had issues/bad luck that threw it up in the air as well. Jimmie ran much better than expected at the end too. Was pretty close otherwise though.

I did ok but missed a biggish pay with Sadler not doing the job for me. (was partly luck as expected, so can't cry going against myself)

Agree. Think if the car is trash at the start of the weekend it's difficult to improve too.

And yeah, Nationwide/Truck races have been more consistent for profit than Cup for me this year. Especially recently.

Good to have someone else that is interested in it posting.

These are the only +odds matchups I like on 5D so far.

8508 Jimmie Johnson #48* +120 vs Juan Pablo Montoya #42
8526 Carl Edwards #99* +130 vs Juan Pablo Montoya #42
8531 Joey Logano #20* +120 vs Martin Truex Jr #56
    8534 Matt Kenseth #17* +100 vs Mark Martin #5

    Group bet leans

Sprint Cup Motor Racing HGSCD at the Glen - Best Finish of Group E : Jeff Gordon +290
Kurt Busch, Gordon, Harvick, McMurray, Said

Sprint Cup Motor Racing HGSCD at the Glen - Best Finish of Group F : A.J. Allmendinger +225
    Allmendinger, Bowyer, Kahne, Logano, Newman

Looking forward to seeing their over/under options this week.
