    Sepang Formula 1 race

Forecast is for heavy rain at race time. Almost none of the drivers have ever tried the new Pirrelli wet tires, so could be a total crapshoot.

After first 2 practice sessions Red Bull (Vettel and Webber) and McLaren (Hamilton and Button) have been around 1 second better than Ferrari (Alonso and Massa), Mercedes (Schumacher and Rosberg) and Renault (Heidfeld and Petrov).

Sauber (Koybayashi and Perez) and Williams (Barrichello and Maldonado) are within a second behind again.

    Vettel +140
    Hamilton +530
    Webber +580
    Button +1000
    Alonso +2000
    Schumacher +4500
    Rosberg +6000
    Massa +7000
    Petrov +8500
    Heidfeld +9000
    Barrichello +21000
    Koybayashi +25000

Think I will sprinkle a little on Alonso and Schumacher in the hope rain mixes things up.

Put a half unit on Hamilton to take pole position +1100. But only because I think it's a good price, not holding my breath for him to out-qualify both Red Bulls.

if those are to win the race this weekend i would put equal amounts into Webber +580, Button +1000, and Hamilton +580 .. which is an average of +230 for the trio. my book doesn't offer anything F1 except for driver and constructors championship though.

how did you get these odds and when are they usually posted?
I see that my book has Malaysian GP listed (how exciting!) but it has been blank the last few times i've checked in the last 3 days.

Agree about the Webber/Button/Hamilton mix. But I didn't think the price on those 3 would change much even if they qualified well, and would drift big time if they didn't, so only wanted Schu and Alonso early.

I don't know of any book with F1 prices up right now, so maybe they will appear at your book soon.

    Those prices were from Betfair

    Lewis Hamilton +370

    Nico Rosberg +10000
    Felipe Massa +17000
    Vitaly Petrov +11000
    Nick Heidfeld +10000

finally, got some driver matchups and some Malaysian win odds available but that's it. i wish my book had 20 different options like pinnacle. hey, you are pretty confident that Vettel will win tomorrow! he's pretty good but winning a race is pretty hard. Even though RBR have won back to back multiple times last year. i just saw this bet option on pinnacle:
    Sun 4/10
Will S. Vettel win 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix? 01:00 AM
    Yes 2.090 No 1.833
..and i thought the logical bet is actually No. the odds of anybody else winning tomorrow are actually much better than (1.833= -120, i think?) So many factors can lead to someone else winning. If i were in the situation where my fate were dependent on a bet and i had to shove all-in on something.. it would be this No bet. hehe

i am only halfway with watching the qualifying though. (and, judging from the post-qualifying odds, i think i know how it turns out )

    still, good luck w/ Vettel!

Yeah agree with that logic. Particularly with rain forecast looking more and more like it's going to hit right on green flag time.

I'd probably just take Hamilton instead of McLaren personally. Button will only win with lots of luck.

    GL to you too.

My biggest bet is on a >10 second winning margin.

Well that was a total washout for me.

Not a bad race at least.
