Last game of the week with Monday Night Football will be nice to finish Round 2 with a W.
Being a long-time Sharks fan it is hard to bet against them, but I think St George will be too strong tonight, and with the line moving in favour of the Sharks today means that they are only giving 12.5 which I think they should cover. Although it is a local derby and wet-weather I don't think the Sharks will offer much in attack to really threaten the Dragons line and the Dragons could cover this spread with only 3-4 tries.
Bittersweet loss to end Round 2, being a Sharkies fan, horrible conditions but what a game by the Sharks, the Dragons were never really in it.
First 2 Rounds have been pretty hard going with so many upsets but I did end up with a winning record for Round 2 making a slight profit, Units are still down on the year but hopefully the teams start to get some form about them and I can pick my spots better.
Rob you did well to make profit this week. Just incase you havent checked oztips yet yes u are still coming last. less time placing bets and more time picking games maybe
Another horrible week would have broke even if i did not put the chase play on after friday nights disaster. Betting on opening rounds is never easy.
Round 2 conclusion
Current Record 3-5-0
Current bankroll $800
First Play Parramatta v Penrith - 3 units Loss
Parramatta -4.5
Second play Canberra v Brisbane 5 units Loss
Canberra -6
Third play Tigers v Warriors 5 units Win
Tigers -6
Fourth play Rabbits v Bulldogs 3 units Win
Bulldogs -4.5
Added play Roosters v Manly 5 units Loss
Roosters -12
Parramatta vs. Souths -2 (x2)
Parramatta vs. Souths Over 40 (1x)
Like Souths to bounce back tonight, neither team has been playing well, bit of a crunch game for Souths even this early in the season. Like the over as well, 40 for a Friday night game with 2 pretty good teams offensively doesn't seem like enough.
Souths did it easy over Parramatta, Inglis starting to stand out a bit. Easily over the total as well, glad I left the other game alone probably would have taken Gold Coast to get their first win.
Didn't get to a computer yesterday, had Tigers -4 but didn't get to document it. Will have a bet for the game tomorrow night, liking the Storm at the moment should be able to cover against the Cowboys even away from home.
Wasn't expecting that, didn't get to catch the game but the score probably speaks for itself, massive turnaround after last weeks easy win for Melbourne.
End up 2-1 for the Round, slight profit. Need some more consistency from most teams in the next few weeks to start improving the bankroll.
Round 4 starts tonight with a couple of pretty good games
Souths vs. Manly -2.5 (2x) @1.92
Brisbane vs. Penrith Under 41.5 (x1) @1.90
Manly are 6/6 when playing at Bluetongue and always get good support there, Souths had a good win last week but the Eels were not impressive at all, look for Manly to continue their good early form. Brisbane's line has blown out to 9.5, I think Penrith will improve from last week but 41.5 is a lot of points considering Brisbane's defence of late, laying 1 Unit on the under.
