    Nocode's AFL 2011 Thread

    Hi guys and gal(s) , the AFL season is again upon us.
    So same as last year i will prodominatley be posting Multi's on AFL matches but will occasionaly have a few single bets.
    The book im using will again be CentreBet cause they have pick your own line.

    Lets hope we make some good money this year

    Just thought id add my betting amounts.

    In the regular AFL season I bet units ------ 1 unit + $100

    In the NAB cup im betting .10 of a unit, which is $10.

    Good work on your picks mate.

    I'm seriously having a hard time thinking of reasons why Sydney doesnt cover the -28.5 line tonight against GWS. Shouldnt this match be an absolute white wash as GWS is basically full of 17 yr olds competing against a side full of MEN. GWS hasnt never played at this level before and you can barely even call them a team as most players have only been drafted a few months ago or are top up players specifically for this match.

    I dont care how good of a coach Kevin Sheedy is but there is no way I can see GWS even making this competitve vs the swans. Even if the swans only go half paced or dont play some of there guns for this match i still think they cover the line comfortably...

    Any reason why this isn't the play??? Are there angles on this game i'm missing! Feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks

    Hey Rusty welcome to the thread.
    I semi agree with the Sydney pick tonight, GWS does not have any hardend AFL players at all, they have a bunch of kids as you mentioned.
    The only problem i have is Sydney traditionally start the year off slow and never put much into the pre season comp.
    Im thinking of going big on sydney over 15.5 myself but will wait to see the squads later on today, -28.5 could still be the go.
    I will have a play on this game and possibly Gold coast vs GWS.

    I agree with you nocode1 that Sydney does always start off slow in the pre season especially but that being said when was the last time they were put up against a TAC cup side???

    I just dont see how GWS can contain a team of professional athletes around the ground especially in stoppages.

    You should be safe with the over 15.5 mate. I reckon Dennis lane will kick a bag and Sydney who are contested ball winning specialists will be too much for youthful GWS side. Even if Sheedy employs flooding tactics ( Which he wont because he is too smart and knows that these matches will be valuable learning experiences for his team) Sydney will still be the play.

    I honestly thought the line would be somewhere near -40.5 which would still be feasible as i dont know how GWS will score tonight.

    P.S. I am a Hawthorn man myself but think Bryce Gibbs is a star and will win a brownlow in the next 3-4 years

    yeah the more I think about it sydney should cover that line, think im gonna stay safe though only because its NAB cup.
    Im gonna go Sydney over 15.5

    And yeah Bryce Gibbs is a star, the hawks will do very nicely this year i think.

    a rite old thrashing. im really contemplating going big on gold coast at -19.5 against gws. i would not be surprise if the line goes up too -30 to -40 b4 end of next match.
