    Growth.

    The Commissioner is aggressive.

While not a binding contract, the letter of intent does list projects the leagues are jointly planning, including:
    • A CFL scouting combine in Mexico City this winter for LFA players.
    • Increased co-operation and sharing of resources.
    • The possible playing of CFL games in Mexico in the future.

“There are so many possibilities, including possible Spanish language CFL broadcasts in Mexico, a Spanish version of the CFL’s popular Football Frenzy video game and merchandise agreements,” Ambrosie said.
“Someday, LFA teams may be aligned with CFL counterparts. But we have a lot to work out and learn first.

Nice post, KVB. There's been rumors of a Halifax team for a while. That would make sense.

Seems nominal, but an odd-number of teams makes scheduling awkward. One team had bye EVERY week. Ten teams makes for better scheduling.

It bothered me that 6 of 9 teams made playoffs. And often the 4th place team would flip to opposite division. Ten-team league is much better, imho.

Agreed Chucky, for all the same reasons.

I would think no more flipping in the league with the 10th team and with so many weeks teams will need byes but I agree the even team scheduling is much better.

NFL athletes better in general but average teams might be interesting. NFL teams could struggle on the larger field and different rules.

They can hit hard in the CFL and some QB's are pretty good.

    Calgary vs. Cleveland...lol.

Just looked this up, they played one game with different rules each half...

You don’t have to spend long on the CFL’s or NFL’s social media to stumble across the seemingly whimsical musing of a fan who wishes that the two leagues would go head-to-head in an exhibition game. While the dream of seeing a CFL team matched up against an NFL one are highly unlikely today for a myriad of reasons, some fans might be surprised to know that such games have already happened, numerous times in fact.
The first recorded matchup of a professional Canadian team football vs an American team took place back in 1941 when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers played a three game exhibition series against the AFL’s Columbus Bulls. After winning the opening game, the Bombers scored a single point over the course of the next two games, predictably losing both.

It wasn’t until August 12th, 1950 that the two leagues came together again, this time in Ottawa, as the Rough Riders hosted the New York Giants. The game was played with two sets of rules, Canadian in the first half, American in the second. Unfortunately for the 11,000 home fans, the Giants rolled the Rough Riders, cruising to a 27-6 victory.

So much action at the end of CFL games that it might be worth it to take the Ottawa +180 or so upset then pick up Calgary LIVE as a dog somewhere along the way.

A bit of a free roll, you know?

Betting volume is very light, but clearly Commissioner Ambrosie has nothing but expansion ideas.

They are growing, not shrinking, and joining up with another country on the continent. Both Football leagues (Mexico and Canada) look to grow from this.

Long way to go to compete with the NFL, but Football in the off season can be pretty appealing.

US viewers need motivation to watch, then it's TV contract time.

espn2 carried a lot of games in the summer and i think they broadcast grey cup today as well. it is the best off season option out there and entertaining to bet on

Absolutely love the league, especially in June thru August with no NFL yet. Grey Cups have been fantastic, more drama than the Super Bowl recently but today not so much. Calg finally didn't spit the bit and held on. Nice to see Bo Levi get his 2nd Cup before he takes his talents to the NFL. As for comparing NFL to CFL, forget it! Different games with different strategies - Product is unique.

Thanks KVB. Doing well over here.

Calgary was the right side for sure. Seems like they adjusted to the field conditions better than Ottawa which was the difference. Harris was a disappointment as well. All-in-all, decent game to watch.
