Really disappointing few hours for the Aussies. Pattinson is over aggressive and all over the shop. Siddle and starc not looking much better. Really letting the poms get away.

With the fragile Aussie batting line up set to face swan and Anderson in the last innings, I'm not holding a lot of hope.

You get a wicket, an obvious one, and the umpire is so blind he doesn't give it. Not sure how you miss that one...

Bad decision for sure but you have to take the good and bad with decisions. Adds to the drama of sport.

I'd give up all the electronic aids to go back to players respecting the umpires call in a heart beat.

Odds on Agar to complete the 'almost miracle' debut comeback by winning the test in another last wicket stand?

    And again with Hughes?

Agreed, but it's their own fault, Aussies need to learn to treat DRS more carefully.

I still think Aussies are a chance here if they can get through the first 30 mins, once it gets under 100 the pressure falls back on England. Aussies to win at $4.00 seems pretty juicy.

And re Cowan, please dear god never let him be seen in baggy green again. Pick Faulkner and get an extra bowler and decent batter to boot.

I also think the Aussies are still some chance at 4.00. Any of the remainder batsmen can score a quick 50 and that is good to build the chase around.

Got on the Aussies at 4.50 at start of today. Into 2.65. Could hedge out but I think something special is going to happen tonight.

We gave away way too many in their innings after having them 6/150 effectively. We'll go down in this test, but we've been very competitive and have a really good chance of winning the second test and getting back into the series.

On a side note, I'm sick to death of listening to that biased idiot Geoff Boycott on the ABC radio coverage. When broad slogged it to slip and was given not out, he made no attempt whatsoever to hide the fact he loved it. How I would love to see his stupid grin wiped off his face!

Yea, just proved 50 runs too many, chasing 250 would have made this a thriller. Anyways, at least the series is alive and well, and given we were playing with 10 men, or perhaps even 9.5 (given that Cowan is of negative value to the Aussie team) we have something to build on for the second test.

Dear Rohan and Benrama, rumors circulating about my death are greatly over exaggerated.

    Regards

    Australian Cricket Team

Boof Lehman has instilled pride and balls back in the Aussie team, win or lose the test we are in the series up to our eyeballs. You just can't beat Aussie spirit and it took a 19 year old to lead the way. Once Warner regains his marbles and gets back to opening the batting will look a lot more solid.

Haha - like it. Agreed, there's a different spirt to the Aussie team, win or lose this one. Cowan has to be dropped, but I'm not yet sold on Warner, he's a bit of a head case at the moment. I'd be looking strongly at Faulkner, or even Lyon depending on the pitch. I don't think we can out-bat England in this series, but I do think we can out-bowl them. I think the second innings showed how valuable an extra option would be in the attack, and I also think in our tail enders we have a really genuine deep batting order, just need Clarkey to hit some form.

Anyways, gonna enjoy this one now, funny game cricket, as one tweet on SMH says, "Love the eccentricities of Test cricket. 20 to win, 1 wicket left and we break for a bite to eat"

He's going Zimbabwe ... So we have bad performing batsmen ... they are all openers playing all the way throughout the batting order ... If only we had a good middle order batsmen from somewhere ... that would be sooo gooood.

Wait a sec we had HUSSEY ... and we pissed him off .. so he left.

Hussey plays, we would have won this test by 100+ runs ... idiots !!

So frustrated right now ... Lehman get on the phone and get him back ...

Hussey come back and win this damn thing and wipe that smile off those arrogant poms faces !! Do it for Australia mate !!

By the way lads Sportsbet refunding all bets on the Aussies under the sparingly used "justice rule" as a gesture of goodwill to the punters. Big call on that ,would be in the 100s of thousands refunded I would have thought.
Doesn't do any farkinnn good to me I backed the Aussies on CB.
Rang them up to see if they would follow their main opposition with bet refunds. No chance ....Pricks...

Hopefully few lads on here get refunded

    nice gesture by sportsbet.

What was the bad blood between clarke and hussey? Ive heard about bad blood between clarke/katich and clarke/watson...but this is the first I've heard about hussey.

Katich to come out of retirement to play the rest of the series after coming off a lazy double hundred the other day??
