      Breeders' Cup Classic Prediction

The Sport of Kings much anticipated wait for the 25th running of the Breeders' Cup World Championships is over, as it's time to load 'em in the gate and enjoy a full Saturday of horse betting action.

Santa Anita will host the event which makes for the first Breeders' Cup to ever been ran on a synthetic surface. Champions of major stakes around the world are on the Breeders’ Cup menu. The issue is whether the riches will go to past winners or synners, horses that thrive over the synthetic Pro-Ride surface that the dirt races will be contested on Saturday at Santa Anita.

On Saturday, October 25, beginning at 1:00pm EST ABC will air the first four of nine races on the day, which provides us with the Marathon (1:10pm); Turf Sprint (1:50pm); Juvenile (Gr.I 2:30pm) and Mile (Gr.I 3:15pm).

At 3:30pm EST, grab the remote and flip to ESPN, who takes over television coverage and brings to us the final five races of this year's Breeders' Cup World Championships, starting with the Dirt Mile (3:55pm); Juvenile Turf (4:35pm); Sprint (Gr.I 5:15pm); Turf (Gr.I 6:00pm) and the one The Sport of Kings has been waiting on—the Breeders' Cup Classic (Gr.I 6:45pm).

The Breeders’ Cup Classic lost the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner to injury, and it almost lost its other big draw—defending champion Curlin—to Santa Anita’s new synthetic surface. Only after sending Curlin, the reigning Horse of the Year, to try the surface in workouts about a month ago did owner Jess Jackson and trainer Steve Asmussen decide to run him in Saturday’s $5 million Classic.

Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Big Brown won’t be here, having been retired because of a foot injury. But it's a dynamic field, nevertheless, and it's a star-studded lineup that has all the makings to produce a large payday if you bet horses online. In efforts of directing you to the winner's circle, here's a prediction of the Classic's order of finish.
1 DUKE OF MARMALADE: Had won five straight this year before running into Zarkava in the Arc, where he finished seventh. Still, has won $2.2M this year. Merits consideration. Hall of Fame Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien has a ton of confidence and the Duke is one of Europe's best on turf, and turf horse take to synthetic much better than horses accustom to running on dirt, such as Curlin.

2 GO BETWEEN: A synner, going 3-3-0 in six career starts over the synthetic. Shows a first and second at Santa Anita this year. Will be a threat late. If the early front runners has a problem with the surface, this 5-year-old can gallop away with all the headlines. Familiar surface in familiar surroundings can go a long ways with a horse in a race of this magnitude featuring an enormous crowd.

3 CURLIN: Absolutely no bargain at 7-5 on the morning line in first race over a synthetic surface. Did everything he had to do in order to convince the connections this was the right decision. A superhorse deserving of more mainstream accolades. This is the chance to strut his stuff. Ran his balls off winning this race last year and posting a 119 Beyer. He didn’t win in his first trip over the turf, but he's 6-for-7 at this distance with a third.

The complete order from the rail out is Go Between (8-1), Casino Drive (10-1), Tiago (15-1), Duke of Marmalade (10-1), Henrythenavigator (10-1), Smooth Air (50-1), Student Council (20-1), Raven’s Pass (6-1), Curlin (7-5), Fairbanks (10-1), Colonel John (20-1) and Champs Elysees (15-1).
