Even bad shippers at the tracks I attend make for chalky odds.
Anyone else go to tracks where even if a horse ships in from an equal or lesser track and a horse struggled there that it will go off as odds on favorite? It used to be fun to play even bad shippers on trifectas as a wild card hunch but since they are all bet down,it makes no sense. So when did it become trendy to automatically think that any shipper was better than the horses based at your home track?
I remember cheap old claimers coming in to ATOKAD Park in South Sioux City,Nebraska from Santa Anita where the patrons treated them like Kentucky Derby winners at the betting windows.Granted that they looked so good physically compared to the local stock. The problem was, they blew the turns on the bull ring track. It's a sucker bet every time this scenario takes place.
then throw them out and bet against them like you should do with all favorites at race track. the principal ideal at the track is to win the money that people lose betting on favorites since only 30 pct of them win. since the average favorite doesn't pay 6.00 it is simple math to conclude you can make money betting against them. just pick your spots when you find flawed favorite.
