Please someone explain this about Yonkers Raceway

Ok they put post time up after the race goes official, i think they put up 8 minutes or whatever, it doesnt matter what they put up.. At 0 minutes to post the horses come on the track, warm up for 5-6 minutes, then maybe go to post 8 minutes after it says post time, why do they do this?? why not put accurate post times up?? im sure it screws some people who bet offshore that close with 2 mins to post. anyone have a answer??

Really most tracks are like that just the harness tracks are the worst about it.

most tracks in the world post time means there goin into the gate, yonkers and cal-expo arent even close to being ready to run at post time. i just hate putting a bet in at 0 minutes to post at yonkers and waiting 10 minutes for the race to be over.

yeah and as soon as they finish the end line its official and they have prices. they are very fast about that
northfield and cal expo is the worst for start times

Their are many reasons for a post time to be pushed back but no excuse whatsoever to not adjust the time on the board as well as announce it to the public.
Sounds to me that they are small time or lazy and probably both.
You would be amazed though, if you complain to the publicity dept. or the press box , and find the right ear to bend ,( the GM if you are there) it might very well be corrected.Believe me, the GM will take a minute to hear you out.

they do it to increase handle by getting zero minutes to post people to panic bet fearing they won't get it in. northfield does it also. you should be betting with youbet or tvg so they won't shut you out with 2 minutes to post. don't bet horses with a sportsbook that doesn't throw the money into the mutual pool if you can avoid it.

chester downs does it a lot. I would guess that the horses need x amount of time to warmup as well, so if they previous race after previous race goes longer (inquiries, etc.) it has a trickle down affect as to the listed post times.

watch Northfield Park... they'll go to 0 MTP and you literally have 3-5 more minutes to go
