for starter's must have hit something to bring that symbol up on thread..wasn't done intentionally
1 1/2 miles on the turf
doing this with a little pedigree research on the sire and the free tvg pp's..not a write-up on the race by someone else
#10 piz badile (10-1)
from the first crop of ulysses who is a son of galileo and whose dam who won the epsom oaks..can't get any more impressive bloodlines than that although you have to keep in mind that there are 3 direct galileo's and 2 frankel's (son galileo and close to $250k fee)..that's a completely different level of stallion quality and not surprised that many in this type of race..
the female family very impressive also but that's beyond what I can do here
I'll do a very brief write-up based on his running record tomorrow
raced 3 times..all in ireland
debut (win)
like being able to win first out as a 2yo at a mile (tough distance)..
months count when they're that young and this race was in july (very early)
race 2 (2nd by a half length)
like the combo of going far relative to what others have done up to now (1 1/8,october)
..also was vs group 3 competition in a big field of 13
race 3 (win)
this is his last race which was his 3yo debut in april. again you get a nice combination of ..
class (group 3)
distance (1 1/4 miles)
sizeable field (9)
3rd and 4th choice by ml (9,1 respectively) both came out of 4 horse fields in their last race (17 horses today) .. there's no question the top 2 by ml (2,14 respectively)look better but that's what getting a price is all about
frankie dettori (one of the all time great jocks in europe) will be riding
the link below is his last race..look how gritty he is fighting back in deep stretch to just get the bob..they'll be going an extra 1/4 mile today
