    Kentucky Derby Will have FANS!

This is great! we need to get back to normal.

Volunteered to drive a rescue van down to Nashville area to pick up a load of pups from some dirty south kill shelter. Drove right by Churchill on a day they were racing. First time I'd seen it, and only recently became a fan of Horse racing. Thought how silly it was, I couldn't have planned to leave 2 hours earlier and spend time watching and betting on 2-3 of the races going on in person.

    **kentucky derby will have fans

    apparently for the whole week

if the restrictions aren't too terrible, that week will see the highest ever attendance totals

According to Churchill Downs, the safety measures include the following:

Venue capacity reductions to limit overall crowd density, including general admission, outdoor reserved seating, premium dining and suites. More information on ticketing and seating areas will be released in the coming days and also will be sent directly to ticket holders.
General admission tickets will be limited to a specified number and only grant access to the infield. No general admission will be allowed in the “front side” or paddock areas of the facility.
Guests will be consistently and frequently encouraged to wear a mask at all times unless seated in their reserved seat or venue.
The mask guideline applies when riding on a shuttle, traveling through Churchill Downs, going to a restroom, placing an in-person wager or purchasing food or beverage from a concession stand.
Guests will be asked to wash their hands for 20 seconds or sanitize them frequently.
Guests will be encouraged to socially distance themselves from others when possible.
Access throughout the facility will be severely limited.
Credentials for employees, media and guests will be reduced.
Barn area access will be restricted to essential personnel. Guests and parties in the barn area for morning workouts and during race days will be eliminated.
Changes in venue operations to limit person-to-person touchpoints.
Team member protocols established to protect employees and guests.

yeah probably right because of the restrictions... but i was just thinking about a tuesday that might've had 20-30,000 in the past... with no restrictions those weekdays could be 100,000 this year

what do you think attendance on derby day will be? all previously purchased tix are being honored, and they're still selling them so we're not gonna only have 25% capacity

Took 6 hours to get out of parking lot the year I went. If you got there early they forced you into back corner so you were first in, last out. BS. Learned lesson and always park near exit and tell flag waivers to bite me now. Ssme price to park regardless of when I arrive, I choose where not you.

None. We had some nice tracks, 5 at one time but the last one shut down about 10 years ago.

I don't think that they are allowing fans in the track to watch live yet, check before planning a trip to watch live.
