NJ purses going sky high...Big M will be the track of old with top fields with the new purse structure this year...I would assume Freehold purses go up and they take some of the quality Harrahs/Dover and NY horses with them

I go to the track or OTB for harness racing maybe 5 times a year and its impossible to find anyone under 50 betting horses.

Harness racing can't survive on its own it always needs revenue from another source to prop it up ie slots/sports betting etc.

It should be allowed to die and eventually it will. Pari mutual wagering is toxic. Perhaps if they could figure out a way to get fixed odds somehow. I personally get pissed at the trots when I bet $20 to win on a 2-1 horse at post time but when they leave the gate horse is 4/5 and gets beat. Thats why I stopped going and stay away.

Meadowlands handle is pretty strong 3.5+ mill per card and will go higher..20$ win bet not going to move odds..the pic 4 and 5 s are great value and polls are strong..u can get fixed win odds at betfair too which eliminates your odds issues...

Meadowlands is too tough to bet on. Probably the hardest harness track to cap. Especially with all the doping going on, its impossible to know who is using what and when. Mohawk/Woodbine the same, its dominated by the trainers with the best "stuff" at the moment. I remember when Bill Robinson ruled the OJC, he was one of the top cheats of all time, won every big race at Meadowlands and Mohawk etc in the 80's/90's but now can't win a claiming race. I wonder why?

Harness racing is as crooked as people believe. No I don't mean race fixing, I mean cheating with dope etc.

Its tough because all the shippers in and out...but it provides awesome opportunities esp pic 4.....I disagree with you on the cheating and doping now days though as Gural is probably the toughest on cheats and dope then Any other track manager...he bans at times even with minimal evidence and uses property laws to his advantage to ban drivers trainers and owners....I’d say the Illinois circuit and Ohio are the worst allowing cheats, wife beaters, dopers run wild
