I like the part about the shippers:
Trainers with lot of resources and/or out-of-town operations have the advantage in this regard, such as Todd Pletcher, Jason Servis, Chad Brown, and Steve Asmussen. These guys will pick out their mismatched distance horses early and ship them to races at Monmouth, Parx, Delaware, or elsewhere before Saratoga even begins.

The Saratoga jockey w/ the most mounts past 5 seasons with a positive ROI is Eric Cancel who's 31/385 and a +0.58% ROI

    Trends Courtesy of Ed Derosa
At Saratoga, only 11 jockeys have ridden at least 30 favorites the past 5 years. Of those, only Rajiv Maragh
    has a positive ROI on chalk. He's 12/32 +13.75%

    Monmouth: 4-for-37
    Woodbine: 4-for-13 (!!)
    Parx: 3-for-40
    Finger Lakes: 2-for-14
    SoCal: 2-for-10
    Delaware: 1-for-27
