what is happening with this pic3

In all my years I have never seen payoffs quite like this. There are 5 horses in the final leg of my pic3 and I have every single one of them.

    First leg paid $15.80
    Second leg paid $4.60

Third leg with M/L, current odds, and the $1 pic3 payout

    1) 6/1 5/1 $234.65
    2) 5/1 7/2 $44.40
    3) 8/5 2/1 $80.30
    4) 7/5 2/1 $32.15
    5) 8/1 9/2 $10.75

Ok what in all of hell is going on with the payoff on the #5. This makes no sense.

Fort Erie and a little over 5k in the pool. Like I said it makes no sense. HE went off 11/1 and the race just started.

I guess I will never know as he got wiped lol and got 4th. It had to be a typo. There is no way that was corrent. It was almost like that was a 2/3 payoff which would make more sense but that could not be as I had a live ticket on him.

With the pool size that small and considering the take is probably 20%-25%, it doesn't take much to skew the odds in ridiculous fashion.

In all probability, that is what happened. That or a so called wise guy ( excuse me while I laugh at a wise guy at Fort Erie), ran his mouth and it went through the grandstand faster than the fire did at Garden State Park back in the day.

Either way, playing pic 3's and such at small handle tracks are a buyer beware product as you probably know.

I do get the frustration with weird payoffs at small tracks . Seen plenty over the years.

Last week I hit a 4.5k pic3 but it was at a larger track. Sometimes if one longshot comes in you can take an entire pool at a smaller track.
