Lava Man will be the big favorite obviously. I think Molengao has a decent shot in here. He ran second to Lava Man in March and Lava Man might not be the same since coming back from Dubai.
I love Molenago in this race. I think he should have beaten Lava Man in the Santa Anita Handicap but was very wide in the stretch and just fell about a length short. He is razor sharp right now, trainer is excellent in prepping horses for big races with limited starters.
Lava Man is always tough, but I don't think he wins this unless he gets a perfect trip.
Molenago looks like the play. Lava Man will draw alot of attention because of the history factor involved in the race. And it would be a great story if he wins and ties Native Driver with three Gold Cup victories.
However if a sharp young buck comes along ready to run a big race Lava Man is ripe for the taking.
