Juvenile Turf
Ray’s The Bar - His third place finish last time out could easily have been a solid 2 length win, but he had some serious traffic issues moving down the stretch and was still gaining strong against a soft pace. Huge +19 HBD turf pedigree rating for the Keeneland 1mile turf course. And the morning
Hit It A Bomb - Undefeated in two starts overseas including a monster 4 length win that could have been more. The move from the artificial turf his last time out isn’t a concern with his +8 HBD Turf Pedigree Rating. Hoping to get better than his 4-1 morning line, but the most likely winner could be here.
Cymric - Another solid runner who had to make a strong move against a soft pace last time out to come in second. His win in his penultimate start was very impressive and that field has come back to be quite impressive. The price is a little low for what I am looking for, but you can’t ignore him. His -3 HBD Turf Pedigree rating is a concern, no horse has ever won this race with a negative HBD pedigree figure, but he may be better than his genetics.
Airoforce - Undefeated in two impressive starts including a win in the G3-Burboun here at Keeneland. This is the only American that seems to have a shot at the winners circle in this field. Another horse with a horrible -9 HBD Turf Pedigree rating. I don’t love this horse here, but an American had to make the list somewhere.
