    Singgooner's Crackers – IT’S THE LATE, LATE SHOW – MOUNTAINEER RACE 10 !

    Singgooner's Crackers – IT’S THE LATE, LATE SHOW – MOUNTAINEER RACE 10 !

    Record so far – WIN 1 out of 2 = 50% - PLACE 2/2 = 100%

    9 Sweet Jody

OK, been through the whole day’s card with some of my stats and the only REAL – “put your balls on the table” bet today (26th Dec 2013) is this horse in the last race at Mountaineer.

    Why ?

At the 6f distance – has raced 16 times – won 4 and been in the money 9 times – so is comfortable racing at 6.

Since 3 runs back on 16th Feb has been improving and getting better speed ratings.

The best speed figures ever run at 6f were in its ONLY 2 DIRT races in Mountaineer Allowance races on 11th & 20th August 2012.

11th August 2012 – came out of the widest draw PP7. Was held back to let the front 4 take the speed. But jockey started to hustle from 4f out. Had to go 4 wide – beat those infront of it – but was beaten by a better horse by 1 length – but was still going away from the early leaders when finishing 2nd.

On 20th August 2012 – again allows the early speed horse to go on. Around the home turn comes 3 wide and the better horse had already flown at the top of the stretch. But, Sweet Jody kept the distance with the winner – so Sweet Jody wasn't getting tired over this distance.

So, today returns to Mountaineer – but not in Allowance company – enters the lower class Claimer for Fillies & Mares – so the opposition will be a lot easier to beat and we know it can compete in Allowance company at this track.

Now let’s take a look at the 3 previous runs.

16th Feb – Turfway Park All Weather track – comes out of stall 5 – races mid division over the 6 1/2f trip. Couldn’t get into the race and top of the stretch jockey basically gave up and hacked home.

23rd Feb – Penn National on the dirt. Start was not good, around the home turn came about 7 wide and made small progress up the straight to finish 5th with no real intent to challenge the win.

Then was tucked away for some reason and came back on 14th December at Turfway Park.

Last race 14th Dec – came out of the widest draw of all. This time made a great start – but was the widest of all the early leaders going 4 wide. From that wide run – still made up ground around the home turn. Late in the home stretch, got checked behind the fading leader – moved onto the rail and manage to keep going and get 3rd place.

So, Sweet Jody – we know it is an accomplished runner at this distance. Drops into weaker opposition at a track the horse likes. The trainer hits shippers to this course at 27% - can improve with the racing for the 2nd time off a layoff angle – so for me – it has all the pluses and no negatives against weaker opposition and we know Sweet Jody performs well at Mountaineer as it has been 2nd both times in Allowance company for this Claimer.

Just hope the price holds up – for me – EVEN MONEY is buying money !

OK, will be back tomorrow to take the abuse – LOL !

Wow - Sweet Jody was 1/10 fav and Marvelous Peace takes the early lead and turns on the turbo and wins by 17 3/4 lenghts !

Many people got that wrong ! LOL !

Still to use the football/soccer term I am hitting the woodwork - 4 tips - 4 in the money, 1 winner and 1 2nd and 2 3rd placed.
