    JBEX. Question. I know your into the breeding and the numbers. Ky derby. Why is HAIKAL 30 to 1. I don't get it. I know he closes. That's his race. But he just looks so tough. .I think there will be some horses flying out for lead. ...what am I missing. snyone CAN Answer

    I really don't like him hart.. believe it was the gotham where he got a perfect trip behind a ridiculously fast pace and won.. over the next couple of days when I can see his complete pp's I'll give you a more complete answer.. if you find the advanced pp's let me know.. haven't searched yet

    looked at them again..in both the gotham and the wood he was the beneficiary of ridiculous fast paces and i'm going by brisnet figures and not just looking at fractions..can understand looking at it and saying closes at a mile,closes at 1 1/8 and now a 1 1/4 and usually a solid pace in the derby..seems logical other than fighting his way through traffic..the sire is a cheap godolphin who you don't see often but the other runner out of the dam won over $450k so that's not a bad thing..the odds seem about right to me
    but just giving it a quick look could see maybe 5-10 lower

    Yea. I agree with you watching the replays. He took advantage of the very fast pace ...but 3 races ago. He was buried on the rail. Found a spot. And blew by them. Different company . The winner of the wood who was laying back. Like length s. Is going to be bet . But the horse I'm talking about wasn't far off of him at the finish. So he did gain on him. If there is a fast pace in the Derby. How would you place him .

    from my perspective a positive is in his first 3 races the paces were pretty close to par and he won all those races closing as he always does.. yes as you said 3 races back he was not far off and add your info on the trip and you have something even better.. I don't think your's is without merit.. we all look for different things and stick by our methods..I would have been more impressed if he closed into more modest paces even though he more than likely will get a fast pace in the derby.. I like who I have in the futures (game winner and tax) and probably not going to change anything if they draw reasonably.. omaha beach going to be short odds but think regardless of what he does in this race he's going to be a big time horse later in the year

    I like tax. Been watching him. Loved his last race. I was on Omaha beach his last two.........I don't like the fact v they were that close ..but I'm know trainer. Did he need points. Is that why he can last week......I will get to game winner. Trying to watch there last 3 races. As long as they were in the last 3 months. ...I really don't care what they did when they were two...it's now the counts. ...you look for styles. Traffic. Excuses. All that stuff.. I'm just bias to haikal ever since he won his maiden. I picked him.

    legitimate gripe.. he has really not rated since he's run on the dirt (once he was a length off 3 or 4 starts back) and the derby is no place to learn the lesson..my other slight knocks is he has an extreme mud pedigree (by rating) and last was on an off track.. pace a little on the slow side last race (not a lot).. war front/seeking the gold mare classy distance bloodlines though so on pedigree at least he's really solid.. for the record tax, game winner and he lead the pack within the logical contenders on brisnet distance ratings
