They're on the fence about next Saturday. They would like win # 20 to be in Australia but she was used a little bit more than they had hoped so they're looking at how she responds this week.

Yeah, I would guess they will want to give here a good look over midweek.

Sorry for the no reply David - ran to the Moonee Valley pub to watch the race with a few friends who had smashed Black Caviar and the exacta for quite a lot of money. I only ended up putting $50 on HL to win and $200 on the exacta so I ate into a chunk of my winnings but still it was nice to see it pay out $1.90. I had thought it was going to end up in like the $1.70 range but HL's price kept blowing out. A lot of happy people tonight

A rule of thumb for horses that are used to a month or so between starts.

When they are wheeled back in 7 days or even sooner , typically, they will run every bit as well or better than they might ordinarily have run. The difficult task for the trainer is that when they run back in their next race after the quick wheel back, horses can seem to be as normal as ever but in reality, run a lesser race than typical.
If the turn back in distance was the quick wheel back and they stretch out a bit from that turn back, and enjoy the added distance, that will help offset a flatter than typical effort, but only somewhat.
    So a couple of questions:
    1. Is this the first time she has ever run back in 7 days?
    2. Can anyone provide her form going into today's race?

    Thanks.

Its normal in Australia, i saw horses run 3 times in 10 days, usually the second race is the best performance in stakes or grade races.
In South America they can run evry two days (Chile and Argentina)

Black Caviar will be nominated today for the Futurity Stakes, with a final decision after Moody monitors her progress over the next two days.

"I looked at the clock after her Lightning win and thought, 'She's done enough', but as she has matured she has developed these unbelievable recuperative powers," he said yesterday.
"She's pulled up extremely well, better than I imagined.
"I'd love to see her go to her home track (Caulfield) on Saturday, but it will only be if it's in her best interest."

Moody said he's skipping the race this Saturday and Dubai.

    Also:

"I'm looking to give Black Caviar her shot at stretching her winning streak to a perfect 20 in either Adelaide or Brisbane before we head off to England.
"Either way she will have two and a half weeks back at my Caulfield stables before flying to England, three weeks before the Diamond Jubilee.
"And from there we get her ready to take on the Poms at Royal Ascot

Sounds like the Sangster and then maybe the BTC Cup (or just one of them) is fairly likely for her. Not surprised she wasn't given a run in the Futurity, having had to really stretch out there would be no point over-doing it (not that she would have lost).

I think I'll be backing Hay List and Foxwedge at their next starts off the Lightning run too (unless they run against each other of course). Don't know what either is looking at though, Fox wedge might head back up to Sydney.
