Hey guys,
This is my first thread that I've posted and I'll post my picks on here and would love some feedback from yall about them.
02/21/11: Florida Panthers v NY Islanders
ML: NYI (-115) NYI are 7-3 in their last 10 games. Ride the hot streak.
O/U: Over 5.5 Both teams have a negative goal differential, and their defenses and goalies are terrible. Look for alot of scoring in this one.
Chicago Blackhawks v St Louis Blues
ML: Chi (-110)
O/U: Under 5.5 -Chicago is +21 on goal differential and STL is -7. If there's a -1.5 spread then take Chicago's -1.5. This game should be a 3-1 or 4-1 blowout.
Washington Capitals v Pittsburgh Penguins
ML: Pittsburgh (+110) - Pittsburgh is dominant at home. Even with a couple players missing, I feel that they are still going to be able to defend the Caps lines.
O/U: Under 5.5 - It will be all defense. Could end in a 1-0 or 2-1 game. the under is very strong.
These are just the first of many posts that I'll put on this thread so please feel free to follow and give feedback. Thanks and happy betting!
Do you always play both the total and ml? i am curious why you are so confident in the hawks? i think they have the potential to put a few points up against st louis but i thought they looked a little lackluster today. good luck on the picks though brotha...glad your betting hockey
yeah i bet on PlayersOnly.com and they only have the ml's up right now. and you're right they didn't look too sharp today, but they're pretty good on back-to-back games and this game will come down to goaltending and chicago has the better defense.
Pittsburgh has more then a couple players missing.
Eric Tangradi Feb 12, 2011 Injured Reserve Concussion
Dustin Jeffrey Feb 11, 2011 Injured Reserve Upper-body injury
Chris Kunitz Feb 8, 2011 Injured Reserve Lower-body injury
Evgeni Malkin Feb 5, 2011 Injured Reserve Torn right ACL, MCL
Arron Asham Feb 2, 2011 Injured Reserve Upper-body injury
Mark Letestu Feb 1, 2011 Injured Reserve Lower-body injury
Sidney Crosby Jan 6, 2011 Injured Reserve Mild concussion
Mike Comrie Nov 26, 2010 Injured Reserve Hip surgery
And yeah, Missing Crosby and Malkin pretty much makes this team useless
a sound pick, i agree. except Hawks have just killed the blues - bad luck i suppose, blue was leading 2 -0 until they let Hawks score 2 points to even it within 2 minutes.
LUSabres was right he picked Chicago, we'll try again tomorrow
keep up the good work
I did very well yesterday. here's my W-L stats. I parlayed quite a few. I play on playersonly.com and here's what my ticket looked like. I also bet the syracuse-villanova game and won 13 on a 5 dollar bet. My next post will be with my picks for tomorrow from tonight. playersonly doesn't have the spreads out on the games yet though....
Alright guys, Here are my picks for 2-22-11. Would love feedback and thoughts on it. I play on PlayersOnly.com so the Spreads arent out yet.
Coyotes @ Flyers:
Coyotes (+155)-----> Coyotes riding a 7-game win streak and 8-2 in their last 10. Keep riding that streak for as long as possible.
Under 5.5 (-130)----> Goalies are both solid. Bryzgalov has been strong lately.
Prediction- Phoenix 3-1
Predators @ Blue Jackets
Predators (even) ----> Nashville has too strong of an offense for Columbus to hang with. Col allows 3 goals per game and Nash. is +17 in Differential.
Over 5 (PUSH) -------> Nashville is +17 in goal differential yet the 5 goal line is too dangerous to bet. Leave it.
Prediction: Nashville 3-2
NY Rangers @ Hurricanes
Rangers +1.5 -----> This comes down to goal differential for me. Rangers are +16 while Carolina is -10. NY is also a great road team.
Over 5.5 (+120)-----> Both high scoring teams. Carolina has scored more total this season, but they also give up more.
Prediction: NYR 5-2
NY Islanders @ MapleLeafs
NY Islanders +1.5-------> New York is on fire right now, 7-3 last 10. Don't totally bet against them. It's gonna be a tight game.
Over 5.5 (-105)-------> Poor goaltending means many goals and both teams allow over 3 per game.
Prediction: NY Islanders 5-3
Sharks @ Red Wings
Sharks +1.5 ------> This will be a 1-goal game either way, but the wings at home are tough to beat riding a 5 game W streak. SJ +1.5 is safe.
Under 5.5 -------> Both teams can score goals, but SJ has a defense that can play with Detroit even at home. I like the under here.
Prediction: Red Wings 2-1
Oilers @ Wild
Wild -1.5 --------> Lets face it. Edmonton sucks. Minnesota is at home, and will win by 2 or more goals.
Under 5.5 (-130)-------> Both defenses suck, but Edmonton's offense is worse than Minnesota's defense.
Prediction: Wild 3-0
Avalanche @ Blues
Blues (-210) and/or -1.5-------> The AV's are on a 0-9-1 streak right now. As I've stated before... ride the streaks in the NHL.
Over 5.5 (-130)-----> Colorado CAN score, but St. Louis can score much more, especially at home. Look for about 8 goals in this game.
Prediction: Blues 6-3
Bruins @ Flames
Bruins -1.5 or (-110)-------> The Flames are on a back-to-back and Boston is 7-1 with 3 or more days rest and good on the road.
Over 5.5 (+115)----------> Boston will come in fresh and hot with 10 goals in their last 2 games and Calgary just came off a 4-goal shutout.
Prediction: Bruins 5-2
Canadiens @ Canucks-------[B]K-WATT'S GUARANTEE[B]
Canucks -1.5 AND (-180)-------> Blow.Out. Vancouver is the best team, and Montreal just got dominated by Calgary.
Over 5.5---------> Canucks will dominate the game and the Canadiens might get 1 or 2 scrappy goals.
Prediction: Vancouver 6-2
excellent analysis, i'll pick a few. except Bruins @ Flames - Flames, they're solid right now or maybe safe with over 5.5 NY Rangers @ Hurricanes - Hurricanes, will have a home edge while rangers just had a quality lost at home against Phi,
kobstopa: if you feel safer with just taking the over just do that. I think the over on that game is safe, but more of a tossup with the winner of it. but remember the bruins offense has been on fire lately. i wouldn't take the hurricanes outright, which is why i gave the NYR +1.5.
basically.. if vancouver loses... it's going to be a 4-3 or 5-4 game. like the NYI over because of their offensive hot streak. their front and second offensive lines have been looking good lately.
in basketball there's a sound consistency where a lowly teams(namely Cle) will like to lose away from home & the top team would have a good streak. in hockey that's not always the case. In short NHL hasnt been good for me so far
not for me, i have found basketball and football easier. football(all footballs except soccer) i have found easy except this years nfl. basketball was good for me except this year and last year has been horrible. my bad patch has gone for a good two years now. i dont know if it will ever turn around, it certainly wont with hockey, have never won with hockey.
while waiting for the Mosad to search and confirm where about kwatt, I'll do some posting
Colorado at Los Angeles
Continuing with a their winning way the Kings is 18-9-1at home, (7-3) in the last 10, & 9 of these played away from home, their last two games are solid against a sound defensive teams
2/24/11 MIN W 4-2
2/23/11 @ ANA W 3-2
Currently sitting 5th in the west with 4 games leading over 7 teams in the bottom 8. With 16 remaining games to play thing can change & they will look to take care of business at home against a lowly, bottom ranked Avalanche (away 12-13-3) and 1-9 in the last 10. Colorado’s trade last week will not be quick enough to aid them in this game.
The 2 teams last met with results:
12/21/10 COL 0 - LA 5
10/23/10 COL 4 - LA 6
Colorado:
Over is 12-5 in COL last 17 Sat. games.
Los Angeles:
LA are 20-8 in their last 28 Sat. games.
LA are 10-4 in their last 14 overall.
Under is 12-5 in LA last 17 overall.
Prediction:
Colorado 1 Los Angeles 5
Result:
Colorado 3. LA King 4. Winner chicken for dinner
Washington Capitals at New York Islanders
The rangers came to town shredded Capitals’s Swiss cheese D with a Win 6-0. This time they’re facing another New Yorkers that can scores all you can eat at an average 4 goals per game in the their last 7 at home or at 3 per game even in a loss game.
Washington won twice when the 2 teams last met with results:
1/20/11 NYI 1 - WAS 2
10/13/10 WAS 2 - NYI 1
But back then Islanders’ record was merely 14-24-7, loss almost every single game to every man and his dog in the league. It’s a different story the last 10 where they are 6-4 even won 4 in a row in one stretch, also won 2 at home against record team.
2/21/11 FLA W 5-1
2/19/11 LA W 3-0 1.5
2/17/11 BOS L 3-6 1.5
2/15/11 @ OTT W 4-3 (SO)
2/13/11 @ BUF W 7-6 (OT)
2/11/11 PIT W 9-3
2/10/11 @ MON W 4-3 (SO)
Interesting to note in Capitals’s last 11, they were only over 3 times
2/21/11 @ PIT W 1-0
2/20/11 @ BUF W 2-1
2/17/11 @ SJ L 2-3
2/16/11 @ ANA W 7-6
2/14/11 @ PHO L 2-3
2/12/2011 LA L 1-4
2/08/2011 SJ L 0-2
2/06/2011 PIT W 3-0
2/04/2011 @ TB W 5-2
2/01/2011 MON L 2-3 (SO)
Capitals 4 Islanders 3 (SO) (that is some crazy shit, hey)
Result:
Capitals 3 Islanders 2
ps. i did post Capitals 3 Islanders 2 in the basketball forum before i posted here Capitals 4 Islanders 3 (SO), damn
with 2 key wing players returned Dallas has some winning to do, started with a 4-1 win at Detroit, but keep in mind Detroit has more success on the road than at home lately. Predators however is (1-4-0) on the road and loss 5 of 9 games in February. At home Dallas 17-9-5, sitting barely 8th in the west with Chicago, Predators and Donald Ducks et al. pushing for the same spot.
since this is a very important game for both teams breaking a tie, it will be an attention to details & great preparation than normal, both will focus on D.
Head to Head trend:
NAS are 5-16 in the last 21 meetings in Dallas.
Under is 6-2-1 in the last 9 meetings in Dallas.
