Guys, Underdogs are way to go in hockey!

    Don't lay the chalk.

Remember, hockey is a different sport. This sport is not being played on court or grass field. You're playing on ICE!!

    Good luck!

Do you have a specific odd as to what dogs to play? Play them all?

Last night ALL ML dogs won 6 of 13 @ 46% Betting one unit on all, you would've won +1.79 unit.
    12.10 -1.75 units
    12.09 -.65 units
    12.08 -.01 units
    12.07 -1.95 units

Last 5 nights betting all ML dogs -2.57 units

I've been following +PL odds over 1.44 decimal all season.
    Last night won 4 of 5 80%

So far for Dec 21 of 30 70%

    Nov was 43 of 64 67%
    Oct was 35 of 52 67%

Not bashing buddy, just want to show what I've been seeing.

Lol. Why bet on all dogs?

If you bet on all dogs, you won't make any money. You should handicap games. You gotta pick your spots..

    Good luck.

Capping alone won't do it, nor will betting all dogs. rkelly's 1.44 (that's -227, right?) PL system seems to have some promise (I've been looking at how to use it since he mentioned it in the Biggest Dog on the PL thread). The key, as always, is money management combined with some sort of a simple selection criteria (like the 1.44 system).

I'm not talking about flat betting, I'm not talking about Martingale chasing, nor am I talking about percentage of bankroll, which is essentially flat betting. I'm talking about Labouchere, which is a way of dynamically sizing wagers. It's well documented here and on the net. Labouchere combined with a mix of -ev and +ev wagers will make you a winner.

I'm not a good enough capper to give myself an edge that way, so my edge has to come from money management... Labouchere is it. Once I figured out how to apply it, the winning began. Mix in some +ev wagers, and the results will come.

Also, if you have a choice between making 1 large bet, or 5 small ones, choose the small ones every time. It's more work, but it's an awful lot safer.

    Good luck!

Right on. Labbys are the sh!t. You can also use it with roulette since theoretically your win percentage can be 50%. Stick to real casinos though. Learned the hard way about online table games. Labby is definitely the most profitable money management system no matter how it's applied

I've been tracking favourites since Thursday with a -131 line or more and favourites are 10-7 in that span. I'd bet favorites will end up hitting 55% or more on those lines.

What is the best system after you've lost your entire roll in the span if 5 days?

That's what just happened to me. I'm still shell-shocked.

How much you dropping on each bet? I'm not a big gamer and haven't found the most success but I had a $75 bank roll last me almost 2 months. I Only bet like 3-5% of my balance per bet. I never chase, and I bet the same amount on all my plays.

    money management is key.

Just did a check on the ML dog with +PL odds over 1.44 for Dec.

It's right at 50% betting ML only. Good money.

That's with no handicapping games for hours.

With the 1.44 system as Bombcanada calls it, you could do Plusline sports old 66-33 system
they used in baseball a couple of years back.

A $20 bet per game would be $13.40 on +PL and $6.60 on ML. If ML loses you still won on +PL.
Odds would have to be at 1.50 to break even. Of course you could still lose both.

OK Sawyer, I gave up mine, show yours.

I might have to look into this Labouchere method.

My real problem though is going 2-12 over the past two weeks on all my "big" bets. About 1/5 or 1/6 the size of my bankroll. All my small bets were doing well enough to keep me afloat for a while, but for now, I'm sunk.

I like this idea, you can grind it out on dogs in the NHL. Just not tonight, not much out there to like. Maybe ATL or CHI but at they are very small dogs

Guys, picking winners is not the whole thing, it's only a part of the picture. Line shopping is also important specially when you're dealing with dogs. Matchbook, Betfair, 5Dimes and Pinnacle are great for hockey betting. American bettors, don't worry many times 5Dimes odds are higher then Pinnacle. Reduced juice is great. (but 100$ limit sucks)

Just did a run down on money/ units won for Dec. using +PL odds over 1.44 as a guide,
    to pick your dogs.

    Using $5 as a unit value, betting one unit ($5), bet $145, won $201 = +$56 or +11.2 units.
    Avg. winning odds is 2.68.

If your book doesn't have decimal odds, which they should have, look at SBR live odds
and switch to euro odds on puck line to get your picks.

Proof is in the pudding, no handicapping skills. This might be a trend that might disappear,
I don't know. I'm not into how many years this system has won. I'm into the now.

All I can say is, play it until it plays out. We are here to help each other and not play head
    games. GL

1.44 is about -228 in US odds. I want to make sure I understand your play, though. You are saying, for example, if the pens were +1.5 1.44 tonight, then you would play them on the ML to win the game?

Thanks for your work in tracking this. I always need help in hockey!

Jive, that would be +1.45 and above. (Over +1.44)

No, that would not be a play, because it's not at 1.45.

I prefer to play the +PL because you get the extra goals. I just wanted to
show what the dogs of the same team were doing.

I want to ad, I go by the odds in the morning around 10 am, not before
    game time.

    Please tread lightly.

I find it easier to figure my money with decimal odds than American.
Mostly because I don't bet $100 on games.

Sorry Sawyer, I don't mean to take over your thread, Thanks.
