The Canadiens have won the last 7 games and 9 of their last 10 against PHX. They haven’t lost at home to PHX since 1996! where they lost in OT. In fact, the Canadiens straight up dominate the Phoenix/Winnipeg franchise with an overall record of 41-12-9-0, an outstanding .734 winning percentage which is their best winning percentage against any current NHL team over their 100 year history.

Price, who is making his 8 straight start is coming off of a shutout against Ottawa and is looking to continue his dominance against Phoenix, where he is 3-0-0 with a miniscule 1.67 GAA.

There’s not much upside on the Phoenix side tonight. They are coming off a loss on Saturday. They are 2-2-2 for the season, and are the 5th worst team in the league. On top of that, they are 1-1-2 on the road and as mentioned before are awful in Montreal. They are tied for last place (NJ) for goals scored at 15, only 2.5 a game.

At the moment, Montreal is getting good value at being only –120 and is actually down from the opening line of –140. Given the history, and the records, Montreal at home at that value doesn’t make much sense and is ripe for the picking.

Am I off here? Thoughts?

I see value in Phoenix. Sometimes what you see isn't necessarily what you get. Phoenix has trouble scoring, still wont have Shane Doan, is on a road trip but yet is only +115? This line is so fishy it seems to scream Bet MTL.

In fact, this reminds me of yesterday's NFL contest between SF and CAROLINA. Sucker bet 101 if you ask me.

Montreal won in Phoenix last year. I have a feeling Phoenix gets them tonight. +1.5 may be worth a shot or even a draw at the end of regulation as I can see this one going to OT and possibly a Shootout.

There are two thought processes here. You could say they are due and bet them every time saying that you'll win eventually. Or you could say that its a very strong trend and bet it every time until the trend weakens. Optimist/pessimist.

But with your thought process, you would have been 0-16 when betting on the Lions last NFL season...

+1.5 is another way to play this game, although its extremely chalky. Montreal is awful so far this season against the PL. 1-6 to be exact. I think Montreal could and should win this game by 2 or more but with that stat, I'm going to play it safer and play them -120 and not have to wait for the ENG. Did that last night with NYR and almost got burned.

Going to Habland is as good for them as any fan.
They will show up and Mon. has had 3 games against rivals with two on deck.
This is a classic letdown spot.
May not happen but it is hard to be up for 86 games.
