I have plenty of questions for this guy. My first one is when does he plan on firing himself for running the NHL into the ground.

Gary Bettman is about to be a media star.

Starting on Nov. 27, the NHL commissioner will co-host a weekly one-hour call-in show on XM Satellite Radio with announcer Bill Clement. XM says that Bettman is the first sports league head to host his own radio show.

"This program sets the bar high. It marks the first time fans of a professional sports league will have direct access to the sport's top decision makers," said John Bitove, chairman and CEO of XM Canada.

An XM spokesman said the show was created when Bettman's appearance on the channel's NHL Hour received great response.

The show will feature call-ins and commentary and will run on Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m. on XM channel 204.

When Bettman can't appear, the show will be hosted by either deputy commissioner Bill Daly or senior executive vice-president of hockey operations Colin Campbell.

It will also be broadcast on the league's website.

The NHL Hour will include hockey news and comment.

XM carries all NHL games and has a 24-hour channel, NHL Home Ice, devoted to hockey.
