Ok, the time has come to start my third tracking thread. Unfortunately, after 350,000 views it is time to move on from the last thread....and this thread will be my first to hit 1,000,000 views.
If there is anything I learned in the last two threads, it is that I have strengths and weaknesses as a poster of a long-term thread. The days you win it is easy to come back and update your record, but sometimes, especially after a gut-wrenching loss, it just ain't that easy.
To this day I have always known that I am an emotional person, for good and for bad. I never get down or depressed, and most of my emotion comes out in a positive way, whether at weddings, looking through family photos, talking about my grandparents, etc.....but sometimes it comes out in other ways.
When I was young it was evident to me very early that sports was emotional for me. I think it is because of that, that I love sports so much. When I was a kid and my Winnipeg Jets lost, not only was I upset, but I could not put the radio on the next morning because I couldn't listen to them talk about the loss. The same thing happens today....when something negative happens, I need a bit of a break from it....not to cool of or anything, there is no anger associated with it, but I just need time for my emotions to run a little cooler.
When running a thread, this can be seen as something negative. The thing is....it cannot be helped. People have seen over the years that a bad night will keep me from (sometimes) updating my record, for a day....hell, sometimes even a week, and even when the 6 days after that day have been positive or even great.
This thread will be a little different. Fitguy67 (a really great guy) posted this in my old thread the other day:
and I am going to take him up on it.
NOW, I need to be clear, as we head into the new year I may not be posting as much as previously. With a new job, a wedding on the way and a baby 4 months out.....life is going to be busy. But because I have had these last two weeks to relax around the holidays I have done a lot of preparing and I am ready to meet everything head on now.
FG67's offer should help me a load, give me the time I need and allow the thread to continue on even if I need a 4 days break.
I will be posting my plays as early as possible.....and I will follow all of FG's rules.....I will post live wagers, where I tend to do quite well, but they will only be counted as per his rules. Today's plays will be coming shortly.
Best of luck in 2015 everyone.....
