Do hockey total lines ever move?

Quick question. I am betting the under on a game today and the number is at 5 (-105). Do totals ever move? I am hoping to get it at u5.5 but I don't want to give up the lower juice if the line won't move. My book won't allow me to buy 1/2 point either. Thanks in advance.

Hey there. In short, yes, they do move. Yesterday the total for the flames/canes game went from 5 to 5.5.

BUT, if you bet under and it is at -105, then it most likely won't move unless something drastic happens. Once it starts hittin the -165/-170 range is where it may change.

In my book the flames Over 5 was at -170 yesterday before it moved.

Very much actually...dome days more than others.
The totals for 5 move a little more than 5.5
If it's -105 now, highly doubt it will jump up to 5.5...unless goalie change or some major injury or illness in offense.

Now that nba in full force, a bit less movement early in the day..maybe closer to gametime.
I wanted to take Stars - Coyotes Under 5.5 at -115 but jumped to -125 in the last half hour, so playing it smaller.

-105 I doubt it, would require a lot of late action to change of course...later injury news could do this also.

I am still pretty new to nhl betting, but I am more inclined to stay at Under 5 if between +115 to anything minus...if it pushes, ok.
On rare occasions I will buy up to 5.5 but must be -150 or better and best to wait on line movement since it could get better with reduced lines (on 5Dimes).
Today for example there is the dilemma in the Nucks - Sens game to try 5 at +130 or buy up to 5.5 at -140.
If it goes Under 5, what a great value if you play the Under 5, but if it hits 5, you push.
If you play Under 5.5 and it hits 5, you'll be ecstatic, but not so much if it goes Over...tough call
I think I will go with Under 5 unless I can get Under 5.5 at -135 or better.
