Red Wings +4500 to win Cup? Is this a joke?

Wings have been playing basically the entire 2nd half of the season without 2 of the top 5 players in the WORLD. These aren't just plug in players. And zetty is due back by the end of April...

The Wings will have a tough first round opponent in Pit but I'm not worried about them. The Red Wings with a healthy Zetty and Datsuk are a better team than Pit. Pit is way too banged up and their defense has been shaky all year.

Well if they beat Pittsburgh, they have to likely go through the Bruins, and then either St.Louis, Colorado, San Jose, Anaheim, Chicago, or LA.

The only team I'm worried about on that whole list is Boston. Colorado? Detroit wouldn't lose more than 1 game to the Avs. Way too much experience and way better players.

Detroit is easily the most talented team in the NHL outside of Boston and maybe Chicago.

I just don't get these odds.

Detroit will not lose to Pittsburgh. Pit is weak, they really have no one outside of Crosby and Malkin. Look what happens to them when Malkin doesn't play (with the rest of their injuries). They become an average NHL team. Detroit has way too much depth if Zetty and Dat are both playing. Franzen. Alfredson. Nyquist. Tatar. This has gotta be the best Detroit offense in the last 6 years. And they've always struggled on offense for the most part the past few yrs.

Yes I also do believe that Red Wings is a value bet, and if they can go past Penguins(which seems possible), we can hedge ourselves with a good price. Detroit is a team that I promised myself not to bet for or against them since they are very inconsistent but maybe this inconsistency can go to our way this time. Because they whoop ass if they get mood on.

Wings aren't the only team with big value in the East. Sportsbooks continue to be so clueless about hockey.

    Easiest sport to profit in.

Easily. Datsyuk is the 3rd or 4th best player in the WORLD. You know 2 years ago Charra said Datysuk is the best player in the world. Coaches have said it to before.

Zetty is maybe top 7 or 8. No way he is outside the top 10.

    What's left to argue?

Datsyuk maybe a top 5 player in NHL Zetterberg is outside of top 10. There both getting old and keep getting injured. And thats a wierd thing to add that chara said Datsyuk is the best 2 years ago, many have said the same thing from different players... to different players

    It's a decent number. I got 50-1 a while back.

Zetterberg and Datsuyk are passed their prime.

Pens have kunitz, neal, jokinnen, bennett, sutter, letang, maatta.
They win games all the time without crosby AND Malkin.

    Better than wings when healthy.

Kunitz has more goals than Datsuyk ever had in his life....and he sucks...lol

There's a reason Detroit is in 8th and not cause of injuries.

Every series is a coin flip so no one is safe. I already have Detroit but pens are underrated at 8-1 at this point. Especially if they play columbus.

Datsuyk steps it down in the playoffs.

Nyquist/tatar/sheahan/jurco will get less minutes...Babcock sucks as a coach.

    This isn't 2008...

0% chance of them winning the Stanley Cup. If, by some miracle they make it past the first round, they're an aging team and won't be able to keep up. They were totally gassed after 4 playoff games last year.

    You must be trolling.

Aging team? I guess you haven't looked at their roster since the Olympic break.

Nyquist, Jurco, Tatar, Sheahan, Glendening, Helm, DeKeyser?

    1) Teams gameplan specifically for Datysuk. No one game plans for Kunitz.... So that ends your argument there.

    2) Yes it is because of injury. They were missing their 2 best players by far for most of the season. Franzen was in an out for the first half of the year as well (their 3rd best player).

I am a big red wings fan.....thorough knowledge on the team...Probably pick winners on them between 80-90 percent of the time

that being said I would rather have them play boston than the penguins

Dude lol no one is "underrated" at 8-1. How can you talk that much about the Pens without mentioning Fleury?

If you don't think CLB have a chance, you haven't been paying attention.

You're delusional if you think these young and inexperienced players will be able to carry them against elite teams once the old men start wearing down. Not going to happen, sorry.

I'm sure you predicted the Leafs would be leading the Bruins by 3 goals late in game 7 too right?

And after Boston, there are no "elite" teams in the East, so idk what you're talking about.

Interesting because they almost knocked out your hawks last season...........
also the wings deserve respect no they aren't as good as before, but they've have been good for 20 years every season. No one else can say that

Wings were a .500 club with Datsuyk and zetterberg healthy.

    Probably better record without them.

Because that's the highest odds they've been in like 5 years.
Everyone assumes they'll choke so less pressure now.
If you parlay each series you might not get 8-1.

Columbus has no chance to win cup. They have some good young players so maybe a round or two is possible.

The pressure if off the team, but not off Fleury. I'd need higher odds than that to have faith in him after what we saw the last couple years.

Don't sleep on CBJ. With a guy like Bobrovsky, they can upset anybody.

They'll be big favorites there's columbus. -200 ish or more vs flyers/Rangers. About even money/slight dog vs boston but if they get rolling lines will shift.

A few weeks ago pens were 4-1 and boston 8-1.
Got reversed but only home ice changed which means nothing in the nhl. The new playoff format is stupid too. No resending I believe.

I'm capping fleury shutting his pants into the odds.

I already have every team in the east at highest possible odds anyway. Only a few scenarios where I get ******.

Hard to lose when you get teams like flyers at 70-1...

People call pens chokers but Boston is one of the all time greats in that.

3-0 series. Greatest choke in human history.
Win cup, lose 1st round next year.
Most Stanley Cup finals lost ever.

Too bad they won there little lucky cup against crap canucks so people forgot what playoff losers they really are.
