Public 95% over 5.5 both games, myself under both games

Why? Public fails to take into consideration things such as recent history. Games had gone under in like 5 straight meetings between them before these two.

Public didn't most likely take into considerations of Halak was just traded to Washington, much much improvement in net, and that Penguins have tons of injuries to key guys who can score.

People still are thinking about the Crosby vs Ovechkin games where each would score a hat trick and it would end 7-6 or so, those days have been gone for a long time, as has the Crosby and Ovechkin rivalry that used to be.

People compare picks to their thoughts or blindly choose them because the publics swaying that way, thats why.

I've said this a million times already, but it's so true. Hockeys the most unpredictable sport, all you need is a super hot goalie on one end, and a goalie on the other end to let one in.

Good teams can come out sluggish and slow some nights, and the bottom feeders come out and randomly play great hockey, block everything, and find a way to win.

Teams may score 1 goal one game and 7 the next, thats why I don't like point spread or over unders much, teams also change strategies when playing different teams, example more defensive, and hope for a chance to capitalize and score against a great team.

Backup goalies in some cases effect things as well, teams take others lightly and bam.

Public sucks. Pens had half their scorers injured, game between these two teams hasn't gone over in a long long time, yet 90% picked over lol.

I think the 80-90% fade rule is a good place to start, but then look for static or reverse movement. Are these percentages from a pick em site or where are the percentages coming from?

I like to look at what #s and %s the public is on every day just to get a feel for what's happening in the market(s).

I've never been swayed either way when I truly like a play.

I liked the under in both of the Pens/Caps games mentioned in the first few posts, and was wowed by the masses being on the over.

I've never tracked these, and there's only 20 games or so left in the season, but it appears as though fading the public when they are overwhelmingly on a game is profitable.
