Friday's Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

    By Doug Upstone

Not much action on sides for basketball on Friday, with most of the key line moves on totals. Take a gander at what we found and possibly what direction to favor. As we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.

    NBA – (807) OKLAHOMA CITY at (808) ORLANDO 7:55 E FSOK, FSFL

The Magic have not won consecutive games since Dec. 27-29 and tonight they will try again versus an opponent who is one of the best in the NBA. Oklahoma City will pay a visit to Mickey Mouse’s eastern location and brings more than just Kevin Durant. The Thunder rank second in field goal percentage defense at 42.9 percent and are sixth in steals, proving their prowess is on more than just one side of the floor. With Orlando only 25th in points scored, it might be a challenge for them to find open looks and those betting basketball have lowered the total from 201 to 199.5. Keep in mind OKC is 8-1 UNDER against teams being outscored by three or more points this season. Doug's Take – Play Under

    NBA – (811) DENVER at (812) NEW YORK 7:35 E ALT, MSG

Denver opens a four-game, six-day road trip in the city that never sleeps. The Nuggets arrive on a smallish two-game win streak, while the up and down Knicks have dumped three straight. The betting action has been heavy on this matchup, just more one-sided on the total which has fallen from 209 to 207.5. However, don’t be surprised if this total heads back north with Denver 15-5 OVER after a two or more consecutive home wins. The side action has also been busy. This game opened as a Pick, saw the Nuggets leap to -1.5 point favorites and quicker than a New York minute the Knicks were at -1. Doug's TakeLean Over

    CBB – (823) YALE at (824) DARTMOUTH 7:00 E

A pair of Ivy League schools with matching 9-9 records will clash, with those making college basketball picks favoring the visitor. Yale was a one-point choice and has been jettisoned to -2.5 on the strength of posting a recent 4-1 mark, though all the wins came at home. Dartmouth’s task is slowing down the Bulldogs leading scorer and rebounder Justin Sears. Dartmouth has lost its top scorer Gabas Maldunas and is now dependent on team contributions to win. The Big Green is only 6-10 and 5-11 ATS when Yale visits Leede Arena, yet they shoot 49.1 percent at home and Yale’s defense is second-rate on the road in allowing 48.1 percent shooting. Doug's TakeLean Dartmouth

    NHL – (835) DETROIT at (836) VALPARAISO 9:00 E ESPNU

Basketball bettors have shown their disdain for the sportsbooks release of the total for this Horizon league battle and moved the number from 135.5 to 138. Two factors come into play if this is to occur. Valparaiso will have to come close to their season average at home of 82.1 points per game and given how well they shoot the ball and pass the rock, they could. Detroit only averages 64.7 PPG in away affairs and connects only 37.3 percent of the time. The Titans might be 6-0 OVER on the road playing into revenge, but they are also 36-16 UNDER away having lost two of three contests. Also, Valpo is 7-1 UNDER after a conference game. Doug's Terrific Trends

    NBA ATS Trend

Cleveland is 2-16 ATS after a non-conference game this season.

Fairfield is 0-10 ATS off a road loss against a conference rival the last two seasons.

    NHL Money Line Trend

San Jose is 15-3 on home ice after a victory this season.

So Valpo should score at or over their home average of 82 points given the abysmal Detroit defense. Seems like Dougie here thinks that is possible.

Recommending the under 138 or so, it would appear that Duggie is given the Titans no more than 56 points here.

The spread is -7.5, by Duggie's logic it is out a meager 18 points or so.

This is why guys like Duggie need to sell games and spam up the fukkin forum instead of playing them.

    Fukk this tripe.

Wrong in theory, right on outcome. Still just 1-3 on games with line moves (not my personal plays), on to better days.
