I have been following SBR for a little while now and decided to try my hand at posting my picks to track them. I don't run any specific system and all my picks are based on personal opinions that I have come to through researching games. Here are my picks for the Saturday afternoon games:

I used to play like this, big card, favourites but then two nights in a row I got busted, I pretty don't suggest you to choose this kind of strategy in betting NHL. You can get busted one night, then another one and you are gone. Sorry but it happens. NHL can be rigged in some days, no one you expect wins or totals go to other ways or so. GL all the way!

For the early game today I am taking the following:

New Jersey ML (112) for 1.5U - LOSS
New Jersey in REG (172) for 1U - LOSS
New Jersey -1 (207) for 1U - LOSS
New Jersey/NY Rangers UNDER (-130) for 1U - LOSS

My thinking here is that Jersey has had a good couple of big wins in a row and have generally played well against the Rangers. I also think that the less than perfect ice conditions in an outdoor game historically translates into a defensive battle which lends itself more to the Devils still of play.

Appreciate the input but good bankroll management will prevent you from being wiped out from a couple bad nights. I try to make it a rule to not put more than 5% of my bankroll on one game. Also this only works when you are selective of what games you pick. I also try to pick underdogs or fairly evenly matched games. I only pick heavy favorites if I can get a wager somewhere in the -150 range or better. If you stick to these rules than one win on any evenly matched game can ensure that two bad games will only incur a small loss.

For example last night I only hit about 45% because of the poor effort by Pittsburgh and to some extent San Jose. Yet when you look at my return I lost less than 1 unit on the day. Had one of those two teams preformed as expected it would have been a very different story.
