    Sabres, Blue Jacks skate under

Buffalo has been winners on the ice and at the window this season. Used to playing a more offensive game versus foes from the Eastern Conference, the Sabres play more defensively against the West. That makes the under in their contest at the Columbus Blue Jackets the right play when the puck drops on the second half of the NHL season.

The Eastern Conference leaders visit Columbus tonight and look to pick up a couple of points on the road that many feel should already be conceded to them.

Buffalo (33-12-4) has picked up right where they left off in last year's playoffs and has embraced the new look NHL. Now the Sabres look to gear up for a playoff run that they hope will take them all the way.

While the Sabres enjoy a high scoring run-&-gun style play when facing the East, they play a much more reserved style when facing opponents from the Western Conference. Buffalo has only gone over the total in two of their last eight versus a Western Conference team.

Struggling for consecutive wins, Columbus (18-25-5) has gone under in 10 of their last 15 following a win. The Blue Jackets went into the All-Star break having gone under in four of their last five overall.

    Play: Sabres-Blue Jackets Under 6½

I like the Sabers on the puckline in this game.
