With the NHL coming back is there many here that is going to follow it?

Is there going to be many of you guys in here that is going to follow the NHL after the lockout?

At first I am going to be very cautious on wagering at all on hockey because you have no idea on what shape some of these players are going to be in or how these coaches are going to do.

I'm a BIG Stars fan, so I'm extremely stoked that its back.

Hockey has always been my least bet sport. Too damn unpredictable for me.

I usually bet on it opie in the playoffs. That is where I seem to do better for some reason. I know you have to be looking forward to a week from Saturday. I am going to be interested on knowing who is in good shape and who isn't.

if like in past years where stars have started fast only to fade. This condensed schedule may help them

Ill be paying attention but not making any wagers for the first week-maybe a few small parlays just for fun. Might as well play bingo during the first week......its going to be a free for all.

I was at the Modano tribute game they had up here...even though he only played 4 seasons before the North Stars moved he was obviously my favorite player growing up, especially being an American and the first pick in the draft

Ill probably be riding the pens/rangers the first few games... just cant imagine these two teams coming out flat the first couple games.

Some of these players have been dieing to play.. (as well some havnt) but I'd like to think these two teams have still been working hard to come back.

Also probably playing FL Panthers to win it all at +5000 as I feel they are a playoff bound team with a good young squad.

    That's my exact hope.

I'm shocked that the friggin' season opener is 8 days away....and they haven't even come out with a schedule yet. We plan on going to the first game......just need to know when & where.

I can't say that I am excited to watch what will be left of this season, but I am a fan of the NHL and Avalanche. Hopefully, we'll have a business as usual season next year.

hell yeah. every game should have a playoff type atmosphere, considering there will only be 48 games. and there is nothing better than play off hockey baby!

There is nothing worse than sloppy play and that's what I half-expect. Every game may count, but every game certainly won't be played in a playoff-like manner. The NBA's shortened season last year is a prime example of damaged goods.

Yes, love watching. Will wait to wager though. Will make a thread in the NHL sub forum eventually. My ability to pick teams that go on to shootouts and lose is uncanny!

The NHL is easily my most profitable league out of all the North American major ones (though my NBA record is actually kind of amazing). I might start another thread again but posting picks is so time consuming and fruitless. Maybe if my life becomes utterly meaningless I'll seek the refuge that is SBR peer approval but until then, you'll have to PM me for some winners.

    God bless.

Am I crazy for liking the over 5.5s in most games? I feel like teams will slack on the defensive end, Anyone have any numbers from the 94 lockout? I know different era but anything to go on?

    Broad Street Hockey ‏<s>@</s>BroadStHockey

Not shocking. RT <s>@</s>BroadStBull: <s>#</s>Flyers have sold more season-tickets since lockout ended than were canceled during work stoppage.

    Yeah, I think we're interested.
