yeah they have been saying open the season with all the major rivalries. Also sounds like camp will be opening this Sunday after players vote and sign Sat. Not sure as to why they are waiting until Sat to sign

Despite early optimism that the NHL could play a 50-game regular season, it is all but certain that the league will be operating under a 48-game year.In fact, it appears the NHL has already formatted how the schedule will be broken down, according to a report by Bob McKenzie of TSN on Tuesday afternoon.
Teams will participate in intra-conference schedules, which will feature 18 games against four division opponents and 30 games against the other ten teams in the conference. This means that teams will face conference opponents three times over the course of the 48-game year with an unbalanced split against division opponents.
As of Tuesday afternoon, it remains unclear how the division split will be determined but teams will play two division opponents four times and the other two division opponents five times.
The NHL remains focused on beginning training camp on Sunday so that the regular season can open on Saturday, Jan. 19.

Your welcome Vegas. Many of the team sites have the structure setup so the file can be inserted for an easy update so it`s very close to full release. Because there are so many additions, it`s gotta be a bitch to clear all the additional dates...

G`Day Wildman - I had a good World Juniors & posted quite a few plays in DG`s thread. Would have been great, but Canada let me down... Gonna be interesting to see what The Wild can do this season. Best O`Luck with them. Hoping to see my Senators play well this season - lots of fresh players to the team.

Cheers Folks - Go break some banks

Agree get quite a few kings ducks and sharks games without buying center ice package. So that's my plan

(WSCR) The Blackhawks will open their shortened, 48-game season on Jan. 19 against the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings.
According to a report from CSNChicago.com, the game will start at 2 p.m. Chicago time, after the Kings receive their championship rings and raise their banner.

    • During a press conference announcing the ratification of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement at the Board of Governors meeting, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman revealed that the 2013 NHL schedule will be released "immediately" once the players ratify the CBA themselves. No further word given on a television schedule, but you have to imagine it will come soon after, since there are likely only to be seven days between the schedule release and the start of the season. The players' ratification of the CBA is expected to happen on Saturday.

    http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/stor...s-lockout-news

We're a step closer to actually seeing the 48-game NHL schedule in its entirety.
The 30 individual teams have received their schedules and on Friday morning had the opportunity to respond to the league with "any changes they absolutely need," according to ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.

Arena availability, in some cases, is an issue, particularly for teams that share their arenas with NBA teams. Concerts and other events also need to be considered.

With the NHL Board of Governors having ratified the CBA on Wednesday, it looks like everything is aligned and we can get on with the release of schedules and official player movement can take place, right? Well, not quite. The lockout cannot be lifted and the league can't get back in gear until the actual paperwork is done and a Memo of Understanding has been signed. From Kevin Allen of USA Today:
The MOU is the memo of understanding, which contains all of the major points of the CBA. Both sides need to sign off on that before the NHL can officially lift the lockout and announce schedules, etc.
