    OK NHL cappers ....

...what's the approach? I think I'll be treading lightly until I see what's what this season. I expect some early chaos and lot of random results until teams gel and get some chemistry going.

    What say you?

I'm going counter intuitive for the first 10 games of the season. Cap the games as you always have, applying all the criteria you've used successfully in the past and then bet the opposite. I am not being facetious. It is going to be an Alice In Wonderland world until teams settle in. Expect the unexpected and you will end up ahead at the end of the ride.

I'll be sticking to mostly totals early on and mostly overs at that.

Sides I plan on being very cautious to lay any heavy juice. A lot of ugly dogs will be hitting early I believe

My first instinct is overs as the league is going to want "entertaining" games right off the bat.

    edit

Going to be a crazy number of games every night. I loved the NBA last year so lets hope the hockey is good and guys aren't getting hurt left and right from playing too much.

I'll be profiting but taking it fairly slow at the beginning You'd be dumb as hell to say there is no value from game 1 though

I'm probably going to stick to totals for a while. Right now I think the over is going to be a lot more predictable than a side play.

Overs and home dogs are what I`ll be looking at for the start this year.

I like the idea of "overs" early on.

    Other thoughts..

Fading the "public" teams might also be a good idea and betting teams that have roster continuity/top notch coaching staffs. Is it also safe to assume there won't be any "Stanley Cup" hangover for the Kings/Devils now?

Maybe Overs to start, but this is going to be tough on a lot of teams with the amount of games they need to play. Hockey is very demanding, and these guys are gonna only get 1-2 days rest most of the time. As the season goes on, I think unders will be great with many tired teams, and Ill be fading "old" teams and back the young guns. Think it will be valuable fading "public" older teams like the Devils and Red Wings going down the stretch.

Im LOVING Toronto Maple Leafs GAME 1....Habs in tough trying to impress @ home, too much pressure. Leafs to play real loose and word around camp is Carlyle has them going extremely hard. i respect Carlyle as a coach. Experienced and tactical
