    IIHF World Junior Championship

Since there is no NHL... why not put the focus on the IIHF

For today's exhibition game a select:

USA U20 win against Sweden U20 in regulation time

I know that USA team is missing at least 6 of their good players. Even with them out, I still believe they will win. Guys not sure to make the team will want to push hard and give one good impression since it is pretty much their last chance to prove they are good. Galchenyuk is hot as a pistol... even if I don't like Lucia with him... I think the combination will work.

    What do you guys think?

Ho well... A win in overtime for USA for my last post... It's incredible the number of penalties the ref gave.

For tomorrow morning, I have these to picks:

USA U20 win against Finland U20 in regulation

I don't see against Finland a draw... Subban was not so good against Finland last time. ( I have the pick at +100)... for me it's a higher chance then 50/50 that they win in regulation time.

Canada U20 win against Sweden U20 in regulation

Binnington in goal will want to be the starting goalie instead of Subban. Even if the game doesn't count... I believe the team will want to win a game in regular time in order to be more confident coming in the tournament.

Let me know what you think.

Yeah a lot of good games!

I am leaning for a 3 units bet on:

    Germany +5.5 against Canada

I watch the games and Canada had a very hard time completing plays. N-H is able to make good passes but is teammates are not able to control the passes. Drouin will also probably be out. Even if the Germany goalie is not that good, Canada is not able to take quality shots.

What do you think, I am already down 3 units on IIHF with a record of (0-3)... so you may want to fade my play here

I will also probably put 1 unit for each of these plays

    Russia -3.5 against Slovakia

    Sweden -2.5 against Czech R.

    Nice bets.

Canada seemed quite unorganized in their 2 pre-tourney games.

They are always a good fade as they are over valued as it is.

Agree with Germany play. Canada did not look good in the pre-lim games. I'm leaning under 7.5 in that game as well

Germany for sure will be in a defensive shell most of the game and trying to keep it close and then get lucky late.

Totally agree with the under 7.5. It also offer more than +100 at many books. I expect the game to be a 4-2, 4-1 game in favor of Canada. I will put in a 1.5 unit on this one. Not more just in case every thing unlocks for Canada... because if it does... it could go over a 7.5.

    So my plays are:

    Germany +5.5 - 3 units
    Germany/Canada under 7.5 - 1.5 units
    Russia -3.5 - 1 unit
    Sweden -2.5 - 1.5 units

I guess the books are expecting Canada to go on scoring runs. I don't see it happening after their pre tourney games.

I find these spreads a little too tight for my liking on day 1 but will give a shot. Also in for a multi tonight.

    Leaning Rus / Slo over 7.5 +100
