    Calgary @ Boston -1.5

I'm really liking Boston -1.5 tonight.

Calgary has been struggling lately and Rene Bourque is suspended. Calgary is not a good road team (8-13-3).

Boston just destroyed New Jersey last night. Thomas has given up 9 goals in the last 5 games (4 vs Dallas). Rask has given up 3 goals in his last 5 games with only 1 goal (vs PHX) since he gave up 2 on December 6th against WPG. Regardless of who's in net, they don't let much by. I don't see playing back-to-back nights being an issue tonight with the Bruins being back home (13-6-1).

    From ESPN:

Iginla hasn't scored in his last five games versus Boston, which has outscored Calgary 8-1 while winning the last two meetings.

Thomas was in net for both of those matchups, earning a 31-save shutout in a 5-0 home win March 27, 2010, before making 28 saves in a 3-1 victory at Calgary on Feb. 22.

Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff -- 1-3-0 with a 3.21 goals-against average in his last four starts versus Boston -- has dropped his last three starts overall while posting a 3.04 GAA.

They have only played 3 games in last 12 days, have tough stretch coming up, but right now should have plenty in the tank and be eager to secure the W here. Looks like it will be Rask, he has been solid and didn't play last night so I like this play.

Even considering the possibility of a let down, if Rask goes tonight he'll be fresh since he did not play against NJ.

Boston also leads the league in 5-5 F/A at 1.94. Calgary comes in at 0.91. Boston averages just over 1 G/Gm more than Calgary while giving up just under 1 G/Gm less than them.

In back-to-backs this season, Boston's results have been mixed:

    • Nov 25th & 26th: 3-2 SO L vs DET, 4-2 W vs WPG
    • Dec 5th & 6th: 3-1 W @ PIT, 2-1 L @ WPG
    • Dec 13th & 14th: 3-0 W vs LA, 5-2 W @ OTT

Also note, Boston has won by 2 or more in 18 of their 25 wins this season. 14 of those games were decided by 3 or more goals.

6-0. This team is to good. Tough, fast, and skilled. Odog, let us know when the time is right to go big on the Bruins. I was on them in regulation and PL today but only for 1 unit each.

It's almost always the right time to go big with this team. This team IMO, is much better than their Cup team last year. They are just outplaying their opponents in every aspect of the game. As grizzy pointed out, they are tough, fast, and skilled; Not to mention incredibly deep and balanced.

Going into tonight's game, they have two players in the top 40 in goals (Seguin & Marchand are tied with several others for 26th with 15 goals. Yet, the team is still #2 in goals scored (VAN leads them by 5 goals, AND 5 games played, not including tonights beatdown of Calgary). If you look at individual points, it's more impressive. Boston has two players (Seguin and Marchand, again) in the top 50 (Seguin 30th, Marchand 44th)

    Tonight's game makes it 19 of 25 wins by 2+ goals, and 15 of 19 by 3+.

Will do, have my own thread going ow and was on them on the PL and parlayed Bruins and the over, which is very often a no brainer type of bet. Should be interesting Saturday night, hope there isn't too much juice.
