If you are in the Hockey betting forum then you probably know of the world juniors!! I figured why not start a thread to follow it and discuss some lines.

I am fuking pumped for this, best time of year hands down!! Bought a day pass last year and went and see Canadian's destroy the Czech Republic.

Three bets (Lines from 5dimes) that I like today are:

Canada -2.5 (+100)
I know that this is a homer pick but they played in the pre tourny with Canada winning 3-1, however the Canadians out chanced the Fins heavily as well Howden & Huberdeau did not dress. The only worry I have is if Visetin starts for Canada and lets in a couple softies

Russia -3 (-130)
I know that this is heavily juiced but the Russians are returning a solid team that won the Gold last year. Also the Swiss are a young team that is also missing Nino Niederreiter. Watching Canada thumping the Swiss 7-1 in the pre-tournament showed me that the Swiss will take a step back this year.

Sweden -5.5 (-125)
Again this is heavily juiced and a big spread (spreads in hockey..WHAT?!) to cover, however Lativa does not have the team to skate with Sweden. As well I think Sweden and not Canada are the favs to win the tourny (As much as it pains me to say it!). I personally see a 10-2 game here. Only way they do not cover is if Sweden calls off the dogs and Lavita scores a couple of late goals.

I was at the Canada vs Czech game last year in Buffalo. That huge open ice hit that killed that guy at center ice was epic.

I like all your picks to be completely honest. Really like the Russia -3 to be exact. They basically have a brand new team from last year that won the Gold but this Russia team is always built strong. Russia also had a strong pre-competition showing and this Switz did terrible.

I'm liking a 3 team parlay for today's games: Finland/Canada O6, Sweden -5.5, Russia -3..it pays +430

Tomorrow looks like a pretty shitty day of games. Denmark/Czech and Latvia/Slovaks. Going to have to see the Czech's and Slovaks play first before I put any money on them. I already know that Denmark and Latvia both suck. Also, both Denmark and Latvia are playing in a back to back which these young guys aren't used to with their junior teams.

No lines out yet on my book. If anyone got the lines/totals for these 2 games tomorrow don't be shy to post them.

On Initial look I am liking Over in the Latvia/Slovakia game and lean Czech -3.5 as we saw Denmark roll over one they were down a couple of goals.

There isn't any lines posted yet on my local book. But I sort of like that Latvia/Slovak game over 7.5 as well. We saw Latvia put the puck in the net 4 times against a tough Sweden team so we know they can score and also give up goals. But I got no information on this Slovak team. Are they any good? Do they got good goaltending? Any playmakers or snipers? Probably going to sit out today and get some info on Slovakia and Czech before I wager on them.

I think I am going to drop a couple of units on the Slovaks tonight, having read an article where they know they are in tough and that this game against Latvia is a must win! I think that they will come out and play a solid game and not give up as many chances as Sweden did. As well playing back to back for Latvia does not help. The one question mark is goaltending for Slovakia, so I might play the over as well, not sure at this time.

Nice article thanks for sharing that with us. Hmmm, still not quite sold on the Slovaks and I don't wanna make a wager on just an article but Latvia is bad. Everyone knows their bad including themselves. The Slovaks coach even said I'm glad we open the tournament against Latvia. But the spread I find pretty fishy only at -1.5 at -120. Its a very low spread with a short price also. For the final time I'm going to pass on wagering on this game but I will have a close eye on it to see what this Slovaks team is all about.

After debating all day whether I should play Slovakia or not I finally decided to throw a $100 on them to cover the -1.5

Nice that we cashed the Slovaks D3. Looks like we got an empty netter, but a win is a win!

Today:
Usa -2 (-125), I really like this bet. USA played well in the opener and I was not impressed by the Fins they just seemed to roll over against Canada. the USA will play a very similar style to Canada. I will also probably play the USA TT over if 5dimes releases it.

Under Sweden/Switzerland 7 (+110), The Swiss play the trap and like to slow down the game, they played it well against the Russians. With the amount of turnovers Sweden had in the first game I expect alot of this game to be played in the neutral zone.

Leans:
Depending on the early game go, I might play the Canada game but I would either play the OV 7.5 or I might to wait and see if 5Dimes releases Team Totals and look to take Canada's OV.

I expect Russia to play better than the 1st game, however to lay the 3.5 is alot based on their scoring output against the swiss. As well I do not know anymore on the Slovak team as the game was not televised.

Any thoughts D3?

I like the US at -2 very much. I don't quite understand the line, honestly. I find they are often exaggerated in the tourney (see Canada -4,5).

I'm all over USA -2 today. Seems like the best play of the day. The Fins are without there best defenseman Maata, and starting there backup Sami Aittokallio. Absolutely love this play, and can't see USA not covering it.

Been busy today didn't get a chance to put anything on the Americans -2 but I really like that play. As for the night game tonight between Russia and Slovakia I'm having a strong lean on the Russians -3.5. Only thing that keeping me from playing that is the juice at -140. But the -140 juice is understandable. I'm not quite sure if you caught the game last night between Latvia and the Slovaks, but the Latvians could of easily won that game. We were very fortunate to get that Slovak -1.5 to hit. The Russians in their opening only won 3-0 against a very tight defense team like the Swiss who go up against the Swedes today. I'm considering putting the Russians -3.5 parlayed with the Swiss +3. Even in a 9-4 win against the Latvians, I was no impressed one bit with this Sweden team. Giving up 4 to Latvia? Now that's a joke. They weren't even able to cover 6 against this Latvian team.

Russian -3.5 and Swiss +3 parlayed together pays +280.
